Temperatures


Temps are recorded using a Noctua NH-D14 air heatsink using Arctic Silver Lumiere. I chose to use the Noctua over the stock Intel solution do to the fact that I discussed earlier: Anyone buying a $1000 CPU will be using a better cooling solution.

The temps for this CPU are commendable. Part of this is do to the fact of the new 32nm manufacturing process.

Idle temperatures, reported using Core Temp 0.99.7


Load temperatures, reported using Core Temp 0.99.7

Wow! Those are some impressive temperatures! Keeping the chip under 70*C proves that there is quite a bit of overclocking headroom on this chip left.
