If you want to remove it in one piece which can reattach... then can't help there.
If not..... dremels work rather nicely xD

Check if you can see any little round black plastic circles on the back they may be screw covers.

I couldn't get the plastic cover off of a can of Bondo, so I eventually got pissed off enough and used my Dremel.

I always use my dremel to open the little packages the dremeal attachments come in. Otherwise, i would have to wrestle with scissors or something, which i don't want to do.
I would say that maybe, MAYBE, you could pry that thing open. With like a screwdriver. But, getting it back together may be impossible. I'm not sure, but whatever.
I can feel a 'I broke my LCD, where can I get a cheap replacement from?' thread coming on....

What a coincidence, I just picked up a defective Dell monitor and it just happened to be 15" also. Although, if yours is the one in the picture, yours is newer. I have a 1504FP model. I think the CCFL's just need replacing. There is picture but its almost black.
What I did was remove the stand screws. Then with a pretty small screw driver pry CAREFULLY at the sides and it kind of just popped off. I did have to go around almost the whole outside to get it off though. BUT I did NOT use a dremel to do it. lol
Hope this helps.
PS- Let me know if you want pictures. I will try to get them up tomorrow after work if you do. Good luck!

My local pc shop. I know the owner, and he had a new manager who I was talking to and asked if they sell the broken ones. He said they do if the person wants to buy one. I asked how much, he said $10. I said ok. And sorry to thread steal.

Sorry if these are too big.
There should be a lip near the front of the panel on the side like this.

here are the clips inside the back cover (also in the green circle)

Just take a small screw driver and carefully pry. The reason I say carefully is because you can't see the inside and what else you are pushing on and the plastic is kinda soft as I found out. you can also try to twist the screw driver a little bit to make a gap that you can pull up a little bit on the face plate.
Hope this helps and Good Luck.
Too big? All of the pictures I post here are 3008x2000

i did it one one of them, was going to connect them, ie make one larger screen for ease of transporting, but got an outrageous sell to some guy. he payed me 135 for a 15 inch generic dell montior! he should have asked how much they were instead of just offering lol

Nice. I was looking up what those 15" dells and the cheapest NEW I could find was like $95. Nice profit though.
