Probably either this afternoon or tomorrow morning, I'll be going to some guy to buy some sheet metal. Once I do this one task, I'll be able to start building whatever cases I can think of. Some of you may have seen my Xel'Naga worklog, which I haven't updated in like months. I guess I just put some things off and also got distracted with some other things in life. But it still interests me, and I'll probably start some work on that soon. What's best for me is if I actually have all of the materials right in front of me. Then I can look at them and work out the ideas that I have. I'm still not fully sure if I want to get aluminum or steel. Aluminum costs more, but is easy to bend and work with. Steel would be heavy, and I suppose could also rust. I guess I'll just see what it'd cost. I'll also be picking up a jigsaw attachment for my Dremel, for better cuts. I could have the place I'm getting the metal pre-cut it for me, but as I said, it's easier for me to just have big sheets of it and cut it as I go along.

So I went out today and bought some aluminum and a jigsaw attachment. And just like always, click the thumbails for the full image.

It's like a 2' x 8' sheet of aluminum. Cost $20

And here's the jigsaw attachment for my Dremel

And of course, my Dremel itself, for those who haven't seen it before

I have 4 blades specifically made for smooth cuts in thin metals.

So you're making ATX cases from scratch?

Not too bad I guess, but for that price a proper jigsaw may have been better.

No, I'm making a Xel'Naga case from scratch. Right now I'm at my drafting desk, revising my design.
