Something wrong with ebay?

I kept bidding on an item allllll the way from 15 dollars to 60 and I finally got high bidder.....

Is it not updating or?? Is this some kind of trick the seller uses?

Have you used eBay much? If it wasn't a glitch, it sounds like the normal process. If you and I both want to buy an item and you bid first, let's say $50 as your max bid. The last guy bid $10, so now you are the highest bidder but your bid is set just above the second highest, so it would be around eleven dollars, if no one bids again, you win it for $11 instead of $50. Now if I bid after you and bid $30, it will automatically raise your bid to $31, then I bid $40, yours goes to $41, I can't win until I bid over your bid, so I bid $60 and now I'm the highest bidder and my bid is set to $62.

Thanks for the quick reply. I was bidding on one of those 6.5" touch screens to see how much they are going for. I'm high bidder for now at 56 dollars but my highest is 60. I like this feature... is it fairly new?

I made a deal with the seller and I will be buying 4 boxes of his normal screens and 2 boxes of his touch screens.

It will average out to about 75 dollar per touch screen and 55 per non-touchscreen after shipping. That's why I wanted to check if the touch screens were selling for over 60 to see how much a deal I am really getting. As of this minutes, it's the exact same price for the touch screens but they all still have 4 days on them.

Be careful making deals on ebay, I would strongly advise you not to negotiate with any seller outside the actual auction. If you buy or change the deal outside of the closing auction, you have no way to complain or report, or get a refund. You're screwed.

I take it you're going for a huge eBay markup afterwards? Unless you build a case completely out of monitors... 8)
