My current power source has a few broken wires in it, so I can basically reboot or turn off my system by touching certain specific insulated wires leading from my PSU to my motherboard (the green, blue, and maybe orange ones, to be exact). This is bad. I want to get a new 400W powersupply that isn't cheaply manufactured like my current one. I was thinking i'd get this Modular PSU from Ultra (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1028624&sku=ULT31590), but I thought i recalled something about how Ultra sucks or something.. Anywho, I think this looks like a good deal, with the rebate it's only 30 dollars which seems amazing, and it's a modular power supply with *cables* that seem like they had a lot more time put into them (as opposed to other cables I've seen). Personally the appearance of an internal device doesn't really attract me, I just want everything to work like it's supposed to, and I think Ultra may be doing a quality job. If anyone would care to share their bad experiences with this company, feel free, I probably need to hear it. Hopefully someone out there can reccomend a better PSU to me (if this one doesn't make it up to standards).

itll normally kill your components, or just burn out. Basically its just not reliable

Ahh, thanks, good to know. I think I may go with one of Antec's True Powers, but I think I may want to try out one of their silent (or near silent) PSU's. Thanks again!

Okay, I have two powersources I think I'm going to go with. One is an Antec Truepower 430W for 80 dollars off of newegg.com. (link (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817103908)) The other is a Silencer 410W from PC Power and Cooling for around 77 dollars (link (http://www.pcpowercooling.com/products/viewproduct.php?show=S41ATX)). In the book that Paul Capello (you know, the guy that runs this site and makes many of the awesome mods on it) helped write, it mentions that PC Power and Cooling make the absolute bomb PSU's out there. So I'm thinking that Paul Capello might be a very reliable source, seeing how he totally rocks at what he does, and this 410W one seems like it might be more quiet.

Both are good quality PSU. Antec has the best name in PSU and has a very good QA depaetment.
