Even if it's for cracking your own password (which made me lol when I read it heh heh) I'm not sure if we can talk about it here.

Try things which you think are good passwords?

After doing a google check to make sure there wasnt something that would just crack the hash, Your only options are to brute it or dictionary atk.

If you think it has numbers, symbols, or spaces then your SCREWED. Cause its gonna take you forever to brute through the alphabet with numerics.

If its very important, then create a restore point, save it to a disc to make sure. Then go back to before you rar'd the files rar them again save it to a disc and go back to the current day restore.

...If you Google "winrar password recovery" you should have no trouble at all finding a program made for recovering Winrar passwords.

In fact, since these are "recovery tools", here you go. (http://www.sharewareconnection.com/titles/winrar-password-recovery.htm) A LOT less complicated than using brute force, or any other method which is typically used for illegal password cracking.

You do know you just linked to two brute forcers and several other crappy shareware.

Err, ummm, yes, I do.

Shut up. :p.

Anyways, I've found the easiest method of password recovery is writing them down somewhere. Just for the future ;).
