If you see any inferior hardware, ignore it. This is my server computer. Anyways, it doesn't appear to be moving. I wonder how it died.

You may remember my other insect incidents such as

I think there's a flea inside my computer (http://thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5571)

And

Computer bug (http://thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5705)

And now, we have the server spider

Not on this computer I can't. Unless I take a new one in a resolution of 1504x1000. What's your resolution?

i know this has been asked a bunch of times but what camera are you using?

i think your the perfect candidate for the vandel proof pc case.

It's a Nikon D40 digital SLR. I should take some high quality pictures to show it off.

I say they don't. It's capable of better quality than what I post.

That's just how fast the ethernet port is capable of handling.

Seriously man, you have creepy crawly issues.

You need to sort it out,

Shoot the buggers.

You'd only have to blast a couple before the rest get the picture......

<Insert awful world-wide-web joke here> :D

Well, unless it's poisonous, I'd say leave it alone. And if it's poisonous, DEFINITELY leave it alone.

It isn't doing any harm, and it's probably only a matter of time before it tries to make friends with a cooling fan. :(

(As you can probably tell, I don't like killing spiders.)

Is it not already deed?

And I do not condone blasting dead spiders. thats just mean.

I think that one's just an empty skin. Cute, though.

Ever had a bad ant infestation? This sadly isn't true... I've squashed 'em in front of their mates before and had 'em either ignore it or actually risk death to carry the bastard's corpse away. My cat's helped me out there, but they don't go away until they want to, though last time they only lasted a few days... decided there wasn't anything good to eat, I guess.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh.....

For that you need Napalm.

Or hairspray and a lighter :D:D

Drew: Nah. Just cool the box with liquid N2. So that any insects entering freeze instantly. Has the added benefits of:
1) being an interesting conversation piece.
2) Insane OC FTW.

:D

Napalm is easy enough to make, or some nice thermite ;)

And actually, speaking of overclocking, I've been trying to overclock that computer. I can raise the frequency, but have no way of raising the voltage or anything. So what happens is it tries to run at a higher speed without extra electricity, and actually slows down. And if I bring it up high enough, it eventually stops working.

or some nice thermite ;)

C'mon now, you're just being silly now.

Thermite is for Badgers.

I decided to make a live video feed for it (http://camera.codeinsurrection.com)

The spider is unfocused, but you can still tell it's there. And since this is a server, I can have a contsant video feed at all times.

it almost looks like a loop.. wtf is it doing, what kind of stupid spider would crawl into a cold computer case.

DaJe
08-19-2007, 06:19 PM
I'll move the camera to prove it's not a loop! It's being blown around by the air current.

Im so gonna laugh when he gets into your pci or ram slots and you decide to add something and SQUASH.

DaJe

As I was screwing around with the camera in there, I noticed there was another spider, to the right of the first

you should build a mini bug zapper. i think you could use a ccfl as one, use one to attract them and then make a little mini electric fence for the other side (asumming your using a dual CCFL transfomer).

DaJe
08-19-2007, 07:37 PM
Yes, I am using a dual. I have 4 CCFLs in there actually.

Oh, man. That's probably the best laugh I've gotten today, watching the spiders blow around. Freakin' awesome, thanks! +rep

aha, i think i see whats going on there. that first one is a shedding... an empty shell. the second one that showed up... well thats the same spider in a new skin (and all floppy looking from the picture).

that spider must have been there for at least a week. maybe longer.

i had a fly get sucked into my computer once... it was flying around and around and couldnt get out... and then it got chopped up by my cpu fan.

SpiderCam, SpiderCam, does whatever a Spider can........

Once again I apologise....
