Hey Guys! I just got a Dremel and had a few
questions. First off, How do you guys get your
edges so dang straight and so dang clean looking???
Mine was jagged and filing didnt do much to fix it.
Secondly, How do you guys untighten your mandels???
(specifically the 402). Mine tightens so much that I
always end up breaking the wheel im using just trying to
loosen it!!! Please help! I want to be a 1337 modder! ;)

for the first problem if you can get a picture that would help better. otherwise we just tape up what ever were cutting then measure it out a bunch of times and then start cutting. well it sounds like your using the basic non-reinforced cut off disc, i hope (thats alot of money wasted breaking them) the way i do it is as follows.
1. i leave the mandrel in the dremel.
2. when i want to remove a cutting disc i press the lock on the dremel that holds the shaft in place, the silver butten* right below the chuck.
3. i get a big, flat head, jewelers screwdriver nad just loosen it.

hope that helps.

*look at the picture here (http://www.desiredcreations.com/images/HowToPics/Dremel/dremelHowTo.jpg) and look at the dremel. look for the C and right next to it is the button i'm talking about.

I mean, i know how to get it off and everything.
the thing is while its spinning it tightens the mandrel
screw so much that its really hard to untighten. I
had to use a pair of pliers to hold the madrel tight while
i struggled to loosen the disc, which of course broke.
and yes they were non-reinforced ones that came with
my dremel (emery i think). maybe im just a weakling... :(

Oh and also i was just practicing so its not a big deal about
the straight lines.

ahh. maybe a defect? if your careful enough might be able to loosen it with pliers then finish it with the screwdriver.
