Ok guys, I want to reformat an old PC with Windows 2000. It has two hard drives, one 10 gig with the old OS, which I will discard, and one 40 gig, which I will use to install Windows XP. Problem is, I don't know how to reformat the drives! :( This is the first time I've needed to reformat and reinstall an OS, so I'm a little clueless. Could you help me out?

Just boot from the Windows XP CD.
The first stage of installing XP is partitioning and formatting. Just follow the instructions, delete any partitons and recreate.
The do a quick format with NTFS (unless you want to test the drive/have a meal/sleep etc, in which case choose a long format ;) )
Then install away. ;)
