This question has been asked before, by yours truly.
I got some pretty good advice, but I don't remember where the thread went so please use the search function.
Thanks

You ask nicley. If you have done previous mods that look good then they will be happy to get their name out there.

...Searching "sponsorship" brough up 4 threads on the first page asking the same question. Part of the search is knowing what you're looking for before you search.
But like Scotty said, ask nicely, make it worth their while (advertisement), have some mods under your belt before asking.

Getting sponsors is just like NASCAR sponsorships....ya gotta win some races. No contests per se, but get your stuff out there and recognized by the masses.

I used to work in commercial sponsorship and have arranged and brokered deals totalling several million dollars over the years. The key to sponsorship is presentation because it is fundamentally a marketing device for the sponsor:
- your self
- your completed projects
- your plans
- what you need
- what you can offer them (what they will get from it)
But the sponsor only has any real interest in any of those things if you present to them the most important piece of the puzzle in the right way: what they will get from it.
The rest is the supporting material to give them comfort that they will get what you say they will get. Each thing on the list matters in this regard.
You may have the most amazing modding skills of any human on the planet, some incredible completed mods under your belt, plans that would make George Bush look like a man who does not know what a plan is and a parts "shopping list" for the project you are looking to get sponsored.
If you turn up for the meeting looking like sh*t - guess what? - no dice. full stop.
