View Full Version : STALKER Patch 1.0004 Error

I installed the latest patch, and now it won't load up my saves nor start a new game, it just crashes out of the game and brings up the bug reporter. Does anybody know of a fix for this that doesn't involve reinstalling the game? I'm not too far into it but I still would rather not restart.

no your gonna have to restart, the same thing happened to me, what a piss off. i had so many guns and such. as for why it won't start a new game i don't know why, mine starts new ones just fine.

EDIT: i just check and i have 1.003 not 4. why did you install 1.004, just to be updated or was something wrong? if nothing was wrong i would go to 1.003.

I dunno what it is, I'll reinstall and update it all the way and see how that works.

Reinstalled the whole thing and with the 1.0004 patch it still didn't work, so I"m just gonna leave it at the 1.0003 patch... when they fix this crap, then I'll upgrade it.

I had a similar issue with the game, when I died and tried to load my saved game it wouldn't do it. I had to close the program and open it again and that worked.

Well, it works with the 1.0003 patch, so I'ma leave it that way.

I'm still using 1.001. I see know reason to update if I'm not having problems.

Same with FEAR. I'm using 1.0 but since I haven't had issues, I'm not going to update.

^^Makes sense to me. I'll really start worrying about it if I need the latest patch to play online, but I haven't played through the game once yet, so I'll maybe do that first.

thats what i would have done (stick with 1.001) but the game keep restarting my pc and one time screwed my external hhd and family one too. but after going to 1.003 i still had it freezing and having to restart. i think its because my current specs aren't good enough.
