Well Im to poor to buy the hardware for the BF2 case I am building so my dad told me to order what I needed. I said, hell YAH.. I didnt even ask or want, he just offered. I figured I would wait until tax time but oh well. :santa: Anyways, I have a xfx 8600gt video card, 400 watt PS, and a gig of ram on its way. Thats all I needed to finish the hardware part of the build. I have an old 939 AMD 3700 and MB that should work well enough until I uprade my 4800x2 system I use as an everyday/gaming rig.

geez, scared me for a second there. i thought you were going to say you have to stop the project and scrap/sell it because your father is dying. glad to hear none of thats true, i can't wait to see it all done and put toegether. infact i wish my dad would go get me a videocard, cpu, and ram, hell even one would help.

Fathers are pretty awesome. Without mine, I wouldn't be able to order stuff off the internet. Yea, I know, I'm 20 years old and I still don't have a real job and thus I don't have a bank account. :dead:

But I'm pretty lucky to have such a patient father, his father kicked him out when he was just old enough and told him to get a job. Well, to be fair, I _did_ have a job. But I got "let go". Apparently, I don't like being told what to do or being some persons work horse for mundane tasks that aren't even related to the job itself. Pshya! I told him! ...and then he told ME to GET OUT. lol Here are some words of advice that I had to learn on my own...

You are not equal to your employer, he has been there longer than you and has proven more valuable than you, thus making you expendable and him not-so-much.
You are entitled to your own opinion, so long as it doesn't escape your head through your mouth.
Do not complain about doing the "little things" when you first start out at a new job, they use that to gauge your usefulness elsewhere, elsewhere being anywhere other than holding a mop, broom or dirty dish. ;)I had to learn those basics the hard way. Unfortunately, I don't learn from my mistakes very quickly. I was "let go" again a little while back for refusing to, once again, be a work horse (which I don't mind) for doing something completely unrelated to that job.

Going back on topic, fathers are pretty awesome indeed. My father just ordered, with the help of my money of course, a new computer case! Which just so happens to be the first case I have EVER bought! Whoo hoo! ...unfortunately its not a very nice case. Fortunately I can practice my moddin' skillz and make it as nice as I want! ...hopefully. lol

I love my dad too, a lot. He's just been stressed from work and in a state of mind I don't get along with. I should almost put some cash aside and treat him to something like a movie or whatever, like a random act of kindness. Those seem to help most involved. He put $200 towards my PC, which was nice of him. Except recently he put out 11k that he had saved up towards a portable sawmill for making logs into rough cut boards and that was a lot of stress doing that crap, ah well, he's my dad, a pain in the ass at times, but my dad nonetheless. Same goes for my mom and brothers, annoying, but still family. Well, they're helping me along until I get a job, so that's a good thing... I'd be broke otherwise.

Congratulations man thats sweet.

I don't love my father for good reason. It makes me happy to realise there are fathers, most fathers, who substantially get it right.

Dads are awesome, especially dads who like computers. Good to see you didn't go overboard taking advantage of his generous offer.

Yah, I would have felt bad if I ordered a Intel Q6700 and 8800gtx ultra sli with a watercooling setup. Besides, this is a Lan computer that wont get used all the time. I have another system thats my main rig.
