just looking through various posts on the forum I've noticed 3-4 posts regarding an issues with good nics that have no connection and no one can seem to figure out why! so far I have 1 pm sent off, still waiting for a response to see if what I said helped, but I have a bit of hsi tech support background when it comes to cable modems, and I used a particular trick for situations like that, and it works every time. the problem is it's a potentially dangerous operation (not to the person only to the equipment) I'd like to post a thread on how to do this, but I was wondering even if I post that it's just a tip and should be used as a last resort am I still taking responsibility for the action of the person following my instructions? I'd love to be of some help to these people, I just don't want to be the bringer of badness to anyone that it doesn't turn out well for.
sorry I meant to put "cable modem tutorial?" just so used to the issue happening with the motorolas

Pretty much everything we do here involves voiding warranties, popping open things that were never meant to be opened, and generally treating our hardware in a manner that it was never designed to be used in!
If you want to post such a thing, feel free. We assume that anyone who's intelligent enough to undertake said procedure will also be intelligent enough to know only they are to blame if it goes wrong. ;)

I agree, I would love to see some hardware hacks here. Most of what we do is for aesthetics, but I am always interested in performance hacks as well. Bring it!
