What is it with batteries blowing up and catching on fire and stuff? They trying to make them all so small and powerful that they're basically a bomb or something?

Thanks for the link! I just checked my N70 and it's battery isn't one of the ones that was in the dodgy batch.
update, apperently theres a new batch that needs checking as they are exploding again,
Its the BL-5C batch worldwide, they were manufactured in 2005-2006 but have only just found threre way into consumers pockets, and are starting to show signs of failure AGAIN, use the link in my first post to check, its still valid.

Odd. I've got a Razr, have had it for nearly two years now, and with the exception of a little water damage on the circuit board, it's still working. And I'm very rough on phones.
Obviously, YMMV.

you are lucky. my cousin has gone through about 6 razrs in the past year. one within a month of when he got it. he most recently replaced it about two weeks ago because his phone kept hitting buttons at random, meaning his phone would actually call people and give them the keypress tone over and over and over. really annoying.
