I ordered all the hardware for my new system from a well known and very reputable site we have all used at one time or another. I wont say there name but lets just say that they usualy have the lowest prices on parts and once you know you .................
Well as it turns out they now have 6 different whare houses in 4 different states. California, Arizona, Tenn, New Jersy. Well I seem to have hit the jack pot and my order is being shipped in peices from 5 of the 6 whare houses. Delivery times range from tomorrow to next monday. You would think that after a 1200 buck order they would atleast ship from the same whare house. But now instead of being able to test everything and make sure I dont need to RMA anything the same day I get it. I now have to wait almost a week to test everything. This site only allows 15 days on processors so I will have less than 10 days to burn it in and make sure it works fine.
I know having multiple whare houses is part of fast shipping. I order car parts from summit racing all the time and they have 15 wharehouses all over the country and 3 day shipping is promiced. What they dont do is split up there inventory at different wharehouses. They stock everything at these whare hosues they sell. It seems that this well known computer site only stocks bits and peices at various whare houses.

This Newegg? I've noticed that they ship from almost everywhere now, it's annoying as you have to pay extra for each box they mail it in. It is kind of annoying too.

Yes Ryoken, it's Newegg. I've had stuff ship from 2 of those ware houses, so it is.
Sorry to say it bud, but that's what happens when you order things online. It happens with every store, and it's something you have to deal with. You got the cheapest possible shipping, correct? You didn't have to. If you wanted your parts to arrive faster, you could have paid the extra for the fast shipping. Newegg doesn't control how fast UPS ships, and they can't be held responsible either. If you have a problem with the shipping dates, UPS is the company to be mad at.
And a $1,200 order is no reason for special treatment. Think about the people buying an $8,000 TV. They have to wait just as long as you, and pay a LOT more for the product, AND shipping.
The 15 day limit is on returns, not RMAs. If it's dead before you use it, they can't make you keep it. There is also a warranty through Intel/AMD that you can use. Besides, 5 days is enough time to figure out whether it works or not. It will either work, or it won't. If it dies on you after 20 or 30 days, then it's probably something you did to it, not the CPU being a bad one.
Just my $0.02.

I understand that I could have paid for faster shipping. My rant was not about the shipping times with ups. It was with newegg breaking there inventory up into bits and peices at different whare houses. It would make better since to have some of everything you stock at each whare house instead of having the cases in NJ, mobos in Cali, Vid cards in AZ, Optical drives in TN etc.
ebuyer in the uk has 2 warehouses, One for everything except monitors, printers and consumables including media.
But most printers and CRT monitors, and TFT/LCD monitors over 22" come from the manufacture

Shipping rants?
Shipping rants?!
I'm gonna post something nice here... about shipping anything to Puerto Rico.
When dumbass FedEx considers Puerto Rico a freaking third world country that needs special shipping charges, special insurance, special handling, and a special timeframe.
FedEx, you suck.
UPS, you suck.
DHL, you suck.
USPS, I love you guys.
I wanted a $8 cable the other day from NewEgg... fine. OBVIOUSLY, PR doesn't qualify for their $3 or whatever shipping (with all the extra F22 Raptors protecting the cargo plane, paying NORAD for the logistics, and whatnot)... so they wanted about $25 for shipping.
HAAHHAHhAAHAHAHaHaAHAAHAaAHA!!!
THREE times the cost for shipping.
So Minty ordered it... $8 cable + $3 shipping... then shipping from Minty to Puerto Rico.
Hmmm... I though I was gonna rant later, but here's a mini-write-up. :p

Yea thats happened to me several times when ordering from newegg.
Motherboard Today, Memory on Thursday, Processor on Saturday, CPU Cooler next Monday. Ect. .
Kinda annoying, but what can you do? Order elsewhere next time.
They reason they do this is so parts get moved faster. When you place an order, it looks at your location and the closest part in the warehouse to you, then sends it out from that warehouse.
They're not trying to screw you. They're trying to give you better service.
Yes, it's annoying. Yes, it's a little more expensive.
If you don't like it, go somewhere else. If enough people do this, then they will change and you will get it all at once but it will take twice as long.
Speaking of shipping, I ordered something from ThinkGeek, payed for 2 day UPS shipping, and it recieved it today. It took less than 12 hours from the time of billing information recieved for it to get to me.

@ nil8 and Minty...
Fine... I agree with you.
But they're still trying to bend you over.
They ***know*** you're not getting everything at once... then why not extend the RMA time... based on the date you received your LAST item?
Casue the Lord knows my house is full of spare C2D chips... 2GB sticks thrown about... motherboards hangin' from the walls... spare PSUs just sitting there... yeah.
When I ordered up my last rig, this same thing happened.
My proc arrived like 24 hours before my RMA deadline was set.
So I installed it, and everything worked.
Up until some days later, when everything just stopped working.
NewEgg told me my RMA time had expired.
I told them it did because my processor, THEY shipped too late.
They told me there wasn't anything they could do about it.
I told them I was calling Visa and cancelling my payment... they could come by my house to get their stuff back whenever they wanted.
NewEgg gave me a RMA number.
:)

You will just have to learn some friggin virtuous patience. Or perhaps order the stuff earlier. Geeze..Come on already. You think by clicking SUBMIT ORDER that the product is going to materialize in front of you like a hot cup of Earl Grey on the fricken Federation Starship Enterprise.
You're still getting the stuff at a VERY good price from NE. Thier customer service is friendly and helpful. You want to complain about service? Just duck into a brick & mortar store like Circum ****ty and try to get some educated help, or find a lower price on anything. You'll be running home to shop online, and be gratefull to wait a few extra days for a product.

We can have dreams can't we? :p
How awesome would that be though? Hmmm, I give it under a fifty years before that or something similar becomes a reality. "Oh c'mon!! My package was five seconds late this time instead of the usual two! Talk about crap service!" ...lol
I ordered a new case and some case fans from newegg a few days ago. I had to wait out the weekend, thats always kind of a bummer, but it got here right on time like usual. Actually, I was expecting it to be a day late because most postal services wont ship directly to my house. But, the dude ended up walking down past our closed gate community entrance and all the way to my door step. Which isn't no easy walk in the park, even if you do walk the entire way. I suspect that the delivery dude got a good work out. lol But thats still awesome that he delivered it right to my door, no other postage service has done that before.
If someday, newegg was late on an order or two of mine, I think I would have to forgive them. They are nothing but quality those guys. They seem to really understand the importance of "customer satisfaction" too.

Hey guys I didnt mean for this to turn into a arguing match. It looks like UPS picked up speed somewhere. My case, ram, optical drive, and PS will be here today. The HDD and the mobo and processor should be here friday or monday depending on when ups gets close.

You could order the CPU separate so you don't have to worry so much about it, lol.

Well, I just made my first purchase from Newegg, I had a little trouble using my paypal account saying I didn't enough founds(which is weird since I made a deposit this morning so I had more than enough) then I cancel my order and just used the same debit card but this time I didn't use paypal. It went through. So I am just waiting now to see the shipping process, hopefully no problems.

YOu have to wait about a day if transfer funds somewhere, they don't count it until like midnight or something. Hence why I got to pay a $35 overdraft when I ordered my handheld computer, lol... ahh well.
