I went to Radioshack to get a simple switch to use for my test power supply. They just had so many though, and I couldn't stop getting mod ideas while looking at them all.

First, let's get to the ones I bought. I got 5 of them, after putting like another 5 back...

This one's a knife switch. It flips completely over to the other side. It's like the kind of thing you would picture someone flipping for an execution.

This is the one I'll probably use for the power supplye. it's an illuminated rocker switch.

This was the most expensive of them, an illuminated push switch.

I like this one. It's like a missile launch on a fighter jet or something. The red part flips up, and then there's a switch underneath that flips forward.

And then just a simple toggle switch

This one interests me, but I didn't get it. It seems to have 6 positions to it.

There were just way too many choices here. 6 seperate drawers full of different switches.

Wow... just got an idea for something from that big one... the one in the second pic down. I want to get an acrylic case to mod and I could have some crazy lighting scheme going on and it turns on when you flip that switch... We'll see what I do later on and I"ll try to stop referring to future projects, lol.

But yeah, cool dude! Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Not only were there switches, but I saw all kind of other little things that I just wanted to get to have around incase I wanted to mod with them. I think I'll have to go back there again.

Psh! I love living in silicon valley! I have;

Fry's
Radio Shack
Weird Stuff Warehouse (used and new parts) (a whole aisle of switches, a whole aisle of fans, a whole aisle of connectors... you get the idea...)
...and several independent electronic parts stores to feed the urge to mod!

Hehe, like a kid in a candy store!

Or my brother with no spending limit in a LEGO store, lol... actually, I'd probably be even more excited, my chances to build with LEGOs are too few and far between...

I can't wait until I find time and money to mod a case with, I'm excited. I don't know whether to just get an acrylic case and pimp it out or just get a full ATX one and make that portable desk/storage box thing...

(I admit to having more lego's than all of my nieces and nephews combined, and enough lego key chains to last a lifetime......)

BTW that knife switch reminds me of "Young Frankenstein"!

[COLOR="DimGray"]BTW that knife switch reminds me of "Young Frankenstein"!Well they're not called Frankenstein switches for nothing...

Do not use that one for switching mains, they're too dangerous. Only really used for demonstration purposes so you can see exactly what's connecting to what.
