New Computer is runnin waahhhhoooo what a great day. BTW I have much hatred for microsoft took me 3 hours to figure out why the damn thing wouldn't finish installing.
Note if installing vista for the first time only use 2 gig of ram till you get the patch.

You think you had bad luck w/ installing Vista? I had to sit on the phone with a bunch of Indian guys for 4 hours each of the three days, only to find out on the fourth (by myself) that I needed to update my BIOS. You should have heard all of the ideas the guys at microsoft were coming up with. In the process, I got a free second key for Vista without them asking for the first one.
Anyways, glad you got that working. I know how frustrating that must've been.

Took me an hour to install vista on a friend's machine.... you have to set the HDD to run before the CD drive. Other than that, no problem!

I'll buy the vista key off of you *beats eyes*
I wanna run dual OS's... plus I don't wanna get behind considering I'm working on my A+ cert.

O.o weird...Well it was easily fixed. And when I installed vista on my computer, the only problem was caused by the user (aka me). If you have an upgrade, you must 'start' it from windows XP, not straight from the DVD. But everything works well!

I've had no problems installing Windows XP on my new C2D gear, I don't know why you all are even bothering with Vista...
EDIT:
Allow me to correct myself. The only problems I had was that I forgot to give my drives power and the jumpers were wrong. Other than that, smooth sailing.

well I'm about to head back to work again and I'm taking my new PC in and will install XP Pro to pass the time.
I just finished putting it together in time with enough time to pack a few tools and all my software discs into my work bag.
Lucky the workstation I'll be at has a couple of spare 21" monitors so I don't need to drag one of them along.
Well, time to go!

dont know how old you are, but in hs or college you can get OS cd's from an A+ teacher, if you ask and tell him that you built your own computer and was looking to test out vista.
thats what im gonna do, but the guy seemed nice so im gonna try to get vista 32,64, xp pro 32, 64, and server 32.

Well my PC fired up first go which is always a good sign. Currently formatting the new drive ready for the install.
This Pc is a replacement for my Celeron D. This one is a Pentium Dual Core E2150, 2Gb of Kingstong RAM, 160Gb Maxtor SATA HDD and a SATA LG DVD drive all in a desktop case. I need a new video card though. I just have a ****ty old PCI-e card in it as I didn't have enough spare cash for a new card. Next pay I'll get that.

It's not a big overclock, but it's a start:
