Newegg just sent me an e-mail with a promotional code for $10 off of this monitor.

$250 is a great price, Samsung is a great brand, and it seems to have good reviews. Is it worth getting? Are there ones better than this that I would much rather have? Should I save up more and get a 24" instead?

How much would the 24" monitor dent your wallet? hahah....and can you wait longer?

Well I also have no idea how much longer it would be, as I don't have a job anymore. Is a 24" worth getting? This one seems to have a high enough resolution.

That's a pretty damn good price. I bought my 22" HP W2207 for $359 when it came out. The contrast ratio is 1000:1 with a 5ms reponse. I same size Samsung is about the same price with a 3000:1 ration and a 2ms reponse time. If you look at these monitors side-by-side, the HP kills the Samsung every time.

It would be my first time having a full time widescreen monitor. If I get this one, I'd make it my primary screen and then dual up with my current 17" LCD. Any more opinions on this?

Yeah the 24" screens have just got really cheap all of a sudden. Any one else notice that?

It would still cost around $500 USD for one though

24" is almost the size of your average television. I think you'd be more than good with a 17 and a 21 side by side. That's 38" of screen.

Soyo has a 1920x1200 24" monitor at Office Max for $300. The only connections are DVI and VGA, but that is a really good price and I've read some good reviews on it. I've seen 20.1" monitors for $150, also of good quality (a lot better than the soyo, but for $300, who can argue with a 24").

Why the 22"? It costs more then the 20" but it's still the same res and the 20" is sharper

It's not like it uses the VGA port to dump data into thin air.

Well, many of the $4-500 range 24" monitors have S-Video, Composite video and HDMI. For some, it makes the difference.

Good deal on that, I use 3 Samsung 940n 19 inchers myself, and they've performed beautifully for a year.

That deal is over. It's up to $400. Boo.
