well I was doing alot of research into that whole laptop lcd thing, after many days/hours of that research, and difficult thinking, I came to the conclusion that with the right pieces it's more than possible to do it for under a couple hundred bucks, unfortunately I don't have that kind of money, BUT with a little help from one of the awesome people here I'm going to be installing (hopefully) a 14.1" lcd monitor display instead, it's a little bigger than I'd hoped for, but when it comes down to it, the stats on my case (by those who have modded/reviewed it) say that the cpu vent is pretty much useless, it actually impedes air flow from a 120 mil fan installed on the rear of the case, :? GO antec for trying, but failure is imminent to anyone that doesn't research proper airflow. that being said I have some hardcore modding in mind,

I have the sonata I case, I picked it up for about 30 bucks from a local shop that sels used stuff.

here's one of my ideas, I photoshopped it since I'm pretty bored:
normal back (this is actually a sonata 2 but they're pretty similar so I used it since I didn't want to disco my computer just to take a few pics of the back.

btx mod'd back.

btxing my case :-D the reson for this is that I can have all my components in a better position for cooling and make the extra space I need for the screen in the side panel! it'll take a bit more modding inside to get things completely out of the way though.

Well it isn't really BTXing your case, just moving the ATX up. BTX is like a mirror image of ATX.

..including flipping the board to the opposite side of the case.

Moving the power supply to the bottom of the case is definitely a good idea though IMO, and I'm also a big fan of having a... big fan.. (*groan*) at the top of the case to remove heat accumulated at the top.

lol pun intended I presume :-P I understand what you mean about the btx thing, just my wording for the way I was thinking :-P I like the compactness of the sonata case, and for the most part I don't think I'd be able to find anything I like as much as this case in a modern mid-tower format, it also has a lot of extra goodies not shown on those pix since they downgraded the fashion of the sonata slightly after they made this one. I've wanted to do something decently big after I saw all the kick ass mods on this forum, so I figured why not start with a case tear down and rebuild, I have more planned, just nothing in soft/hardcopy just in my head, I'll post more when I get back from my truck weekend :-P maybe I'll get some pics of that and post it up too lol.

but thats what the psu does, mine has a 135mm on the bottem and 80mm at the back.

lol, well I think next weekend I'll be modding the case to flip the psu to the bottom, as soon as I've got enough money for shipping I'll be getting that lcd, and as long as I can fix it it should be all systems go! :-D thanks again outlaw huge help :-D
