not a very good deal. In the tech talk forum there is a link to a better samsung for $499.
infact here is the link http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001234

Dude read the title. This is in Australia and in Australian dollars. We can't buy from newegg any way as they don't ship outside of north America. Also due to shipping costs technology costs more here then in the states.

Is it better than the one at my work that you saw today? I really need a better monitor.

Yeah it is a 24" and the of the panel itself is pretty cool. Also at that price it is a steal.

Wow! That is a great deal! I wouldn't mind a couple of those sitting on my desk.

Holy crap, $999? Australian dollar, isn't much less as far as I know. I hate newegg cause they don't ship to Canada either. But I'm used to local stores selling things for less.
I guess though not having the kind of demand in australia would cause things to be a touch more expensive. sorry for my error.

There is a lot of demand in Australia; maybe slightly less because we have a smaller population, but it's mostly due to the fact that there is less competition as well. We don't have that many companies making the same thing, so they are able to bump up their prices, and of course, shipping products to Australia from wherever they make them (if they don't make them over here) plus tax and everything all adds up.
