I got fed up with my beige keyboard.

So I went out and bought a can of primer and a can of satin black spraypaint.

I thought I'd be able to finish the whole keyboard using that. Boy was I wrong.

The keys, drying and waiting for me to paint the key-matrix thingy.

The keys (finally) being put into the key matrix thingy...
(I had to go out and buy a can of red paint (Peugeot Regency Red) for the keys. I knew I'd forgotten something. This is a day after the previous pic.)

My... um... workspace:

and the finished keyboard: (Three rattle-cans later.)

No, none of the keys have markings. I'm L337 like that.
(This explains the bad spelling. ;))

I would have taken more pictures, but it wasn't my phone. I had to borrow my sister's phone.
/me really needs a better phone... :D

Awesome mod, I love the colour re-do idea for keyboards and you've done a kickass job. Who needs labeled keys anyways?

Gun_Down: I found that sticking them to the workspace with blu-tac helps marvellously with spraypainting the keys. It stops the rattlecan from blowing them away. :)

and make sure that you keep the keys in roughly the original positions on the keyboard, so that you are sure they actually do fit. Mine is keyed so that keys from different rows will not interswap. (?!)

Well i would have to say that's pretty cool. Never really realized it, but i can actually touch-type pretty well after all this time browsing the internet... i should do it more often. if i were to ever do that to my keyboard, none of my friends would ever be able to use it ever again.

And i just realized that i also look to down to the find the b button a lot. Weird...

Thanks.
I have noticed that the keys seem to attract the dust a little more than normal (or maybe it's just that I notice it more), and that the 'i' key is a little more difficult to press. (Although it is getting easier. ;) excessive typ(o)ing FTW!)
