I want a cheap bog standard case to use in my first mod, so that incase I mess it up, I've not wasted particularly much money. Does anyone know where to get them in the UK?

XCase (http://www.xcase.co.uk/) failing that PCWorld is always worth a look for cheap standard cases.
Also Try:
Overclockers (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/)
KustomPCs (http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/)
Maplins (http://www.maplin.co.uk/)
SpecialTech (http://www.specialtech.co.uk/)
Hope this helps.

Try your local freecycle (http://uk.freecycle.org/), someone will be giving away some old crap you can take apart.

Check with any computer repair place.
Just ask for either the case or a dead computer, if you came where I worked, we'd probably give you one for around $10-$25.
also try any local schools, especially if they have a tech dept. you know someone at or have a computer related class.

Ive found a few on craigslist. Just an easy way to find people who want to get rid of junk. Atleast thats what I use it for.

Talk to friends, or workmates or get your parents to talk to their friends.
I've been given 6 complete computers, all working, just old technology. Stuff that was sitting around in cupboards and garages taking up space that they couldn't bring themselves to just throw out. But because I might have a use for it they gave it to me.

Again, thanks loads for the replies. I've tried looking on craigslist already but there isn't much for around where I live:(
Ahh well... I'll probably come accross one some time soon:banana:
