When space is an issue the Roto-Barrel Fan is the anwser!
With the advances in technology and electronics forcing everything into smaller and smaller packages
the need for a new fan cooling solution is imminent.
. .Besides that fact there is a need for a new stylish fan, and this is it.
Imagine installing one of these in a drive bay location, or practically anywhere on your case.
Circle fans are out. The Roto-Barrel is In! :)
I plan to install one in both a Internal harddrive enclosure, and a Drive bay cover.
I recently discovered my camera can take videos so I will make a short film of the Roto-Barrel in action.

Ive decided not to use the roll holder the fan bent it all outta shape.
So I'm going to make it out of styrene strips instead.

I removed the switch . .it was drawing to much power from the fan.
I also installed custom fan blades.

Very cool idea. I would like to see how you mod this idea. Buttttt....I will see if I can get a link, I just saw one of these the other day at microcenter. But if you never saw them before, very ingenious idea. You can't always be the first, but you can still discover something.

Thats one of the couple turbine fans they have. Like I said though, if you thought it up without any help that is really cool!

Acrylic pipe. I cut a bunch of grooves in the pipe and took the cover from a paperback book cut equal size blades
. .Slid those in there, and shaped it up a bit with scissors and xacto knive. Really no need for a guard.

Dont worry Eclecticos, I would totally take your one of a kind fan over ANY retail fan.
Who knows, maybe yours will be like super efficient or something (on top of totally kickass) and that other company didn't file a patent or something. You could totally pwn the market!
Can you say

This is the first time i've done an etching so I wasn't sure if I should outline, or fill it in.

I think it would look kewl in an Acrylic case.

It really depends on if you want it to be just a detail of the case, that you have to look for a little bit. Or if you want it to stick out like BLAM! and really become part of the case.
Or if your really good with the etching you could try your hand at more advanced techniques like shading and such. I personally haven't tried to shade any etch yet. But etching, with a dremel atleast, is very similar to drawing, which I can do pretty well, so it shouldn't be too bad.
Looks nice though eclecticos! +rep

I hope you like it . .took some brainstorming to figure out how to build it.
I still can't believe they already make a similar type fan. I though I had invented it.
Here are the Final Pictures.
