On my vaio laptop. After pressing f1 to continue it just sits at a black screen so I'm GUESSING... it predicted right. Bye bye hdd... but how would I back it up now? Not as easy as just plugging in a ide cable in and ghosting it... :dead:

So, I noticed that all of the measurements in PC are wrong... so how do I know if the hdd in the laptop is 2.5 or 1.8 form factor? Funny how 3.5" drives are 4 inches and every other form factor measurement is off.

EDIT: Called sony... cost me 20 bucks for the disks... I asked how much they charged for a replacement hdd and he said 368 dollars!!! LMAO!

"Woah!"
"It's 60 gigabytes thur" *lisp*

I looked up the part number and found out it was a 1.8" FF (ipod hdd) so I got scared for a min... but I found them on ebay for 95 shipped.

Your laptop has a 1.8" drive?!

And I'd go for a seagate 80GB 1.8" if you're going to replace it.

Ya, and I already ordered the 60gb :o/ The 80GB must cost a fortune though...

Here goes one that just sold on ebay... I'm hoping to get a little more by putting a 1.6GHz core solo in it... I haven't decided yet though.

Paid 150 for the laptop
20 for the original disks
20 for a new charger
95 for a new hdd

285 invested so I should be getting around a 500-700 dollar profit :o)
