View Full Version : How much does your computer weigh?
According to this scale, which I don't trust, mine is 20 lbs.

I reckon mine is 'bout 20 lbs too.
I was thinking of opening the hard drives, and removing one or two of them platters...
Dual core? Hell, then I can dremel half of it off and it should still work...
Case? Case?!
A case is for bondo... I'm using a fishing line to bundle everything up!
Seriously... I'm intrigued... I'll check it out when I get home.

I know for sure my Titan watercase weighs about 45lbs by itself.. add theweight of a PSU, and the rest of the parts + about 1/4-1/3 a gallon of water..
I'll let you do the math..

Dude, but weren't you using the anti-gravity water?

I thought it was anti-matter with a strong magnetic field to contain it....

He ended up using tubing made out of dark matter.

Dark matter has a ****load of gravity to it.

My rig weighs about four, maybe five pounds. The needle keeps jumping back and forth, so I'm not totally sure, but I don't think it was made to weigh 'puters in the first place. lol
Btw, it used to be a laptop. But now its a desktop, as its missing its LCD screen, keyboard, mouse, dvd-rom drive and its battery. The battery is fine, but I didn't need it and my friend did, so I let him keep it.
Worlds smallest, lightest desktop with a bitchin' camo paint job. ;)

I"m really not worried about how much mine weighs, just about it's size, it's a bitch to carry. ...and I'm the guy wanting a Full ATX for his next case, lol.

I'd have to say an absurd amount as my system is in a wooden desk plinth over 2' tall (not inc legs), 3' deep and 1 1/2' wide and contains its own HP laserjet in the case (bottom drawer) and takes two people to lift - which is why it is on casters (added after this shot).
The glass top alone will add another nearly ten pounds when finished .. and then there are the two daughters being built in back of her: the IPCOP dedicated firewall one and the media server one. ... so ... ummm ...
Its really a small home network in a wooden box rather than an computer, but at a guess, when finished, I think would be near the 100 lb mark or more :)
I will drive her to the nearest weighbridge when I get home.

If you do just remember to replace the windows logon sound with Frank Sinatra singing "Fly me to the moon"

Mine must weigh just about 40lbs or so, add in another 40lbs for my speakers, 5-10lbs for my monitor, 20lbs for other stuff (powerstrips, peripherals, et cetera), and drinks (easily 10lbs +) and it adds up to about 130lbs or so of stuff I end up taking to LAN Parties, also easily 3/4k+ worth of stuff.
