WOOOOOOO

xRyokenx, Luke122 and I all got our first light green rep boxes in the last 48 hours ... it's a good feeling - being helpful and getting thanked and recognised for it - which, I believe, is how we all got there.

So this is a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who thanked us :)

ps it isn't a postcount thread ... but coincidentally I believe this is going to be my 777th post and 7 has always been my favourite number :D

Edit yeah i meant light green .. cheers indy, mal .. im never posting again ... I like 777 :D

Nice job, cb! I am but 30 reps away from my first bright green bar, so I won't be too far behind from you guys.

By the way, I am responsible for about 5 of the +reps that got you there...

Nice job,

lol, this is a rep count thread!

And aren't most of the positive rep boxes green... just some are a lighter shade of green?

Congratulations my favorite buddhist friend. May the rep be with you (and all the rest of you, its rep all around time!)

lol, this is a rep count thread!

noo ... not quite my furry friend ... firstly it is an "anti-post count" thread ... secondly it is a slap on the back for two guys I feel connected to - Luke and I have spoken albeit briefly on the telephone and xRyokenx and I share deep karmic roots ... thirdly it is a thank you as it says to those who recognise and take time to appreciate people through the rep system and ... fourthly, well yes, it was a lil slap on my own back.

As DaveW so rightly points out whenever theres a post count thread "rep is where it's at".

Congratulations my favorite buddhist friend. May the rep be with you (and all the rest of you, its rep all around time!)

cheers Quakkers

Thanks Mal - makes my point exactly - got repped a couple of times for that one - because it directly answered a question in a fully informative way.

Maybe once I get my replacement headphones, I'll give you my skype ID and we can talk.... or set up a TBCS skype chat!

That'd be awesome. I'll have to get Skype set up on my new HDD once I get one, ugh... technology is fun, but it has a curse, **** not working for odd reasons, and people just don't take care of things... whatev.

But yeah, I wanna get a TS server set up, a friend has one, but I don't think he has it on all the time, nor would he want me handing the IP out like cookies... bad analogy, I rarely get cookies, family eats them all before I get some, and come up with such BS when I gank 'em all... (never happened btw)... well, me handing 'em out like black licorice, I hate that stuff.

But yeah... I don't know where I'm going except to bed in about five minutes.

SkypeCasts - Skypes group chat facility works great. I have been teaching and discussing meditation to people all over the world with this tool for about six months and it is a functional and effective medium. Like all group chat systems I think the key is that everyone has a feedback free system - no mic and speaker set ups.

I like skype because it does voice, video, chat, group voice, group chat ... and you can play backgammon on it too with friends anywhere in the world ...

But mostly because it is challenging head on the hegemony, largesse and business models of the big telephone companies.

Is Skype free? And do they have a version for Linux? I'm gonna take an old IDE drive I have laying around and install Linux on it, this one I'm using isn't working well and my new HDD is busted (crappin' OEM, oh well)... time to call up the 'egg.

Skype to Skype is free - all the above: calls, video, chat, worldwide. I regularly enjoy 2 -3 hour video calls with a mate in Australia for zilch. You can also call landlines and mobiles on it cheap.

I pay 1p ~ 2c a minute to call landlines and mobiles in the USA from England for example.

Though when DaJe called me on my skype account to my UK mobile from the US we burned about $15 in an hour (money well spent on an interesting convo and he played supertramps Logical Song to me :) ) ... but that was a bit screwed ... using a UK skypeout account to call a UK mobile from the US lool

I'll see if they have a Linux version, I'ma plug in an old drive and install Linux as it'll be faster and with less schtuff on it. I get my new HDD in two to three weeks. $5 to get it in 3 days, $10 for it to take a week to get back to them, and hopefully I get a functional drive this time 'round. I seriously feel like crying right now as this week has not been fun whatsoever.

I beleive I had voted for Bucko's thread to be the most pointless thread ever.

I now retract that statement.

Yeah, I can be a pecker'

EDIT: Nevermind that, sorry... just having a ****ty week. I apologize to all that read this and to you Jeremy, I'm just going nuts. If I could, I'd neg rep myself for being such a dick.

I"m just pissed because of this whole HDD situation. I just mailed it back and it turns out Newegg had a label I could've printed instead of paying more cash. I'm about to just smash the hell out of all my computer related stuff, get a stereo with a disc changer, and find something else I want to spend my time on.

Well didn't someone get out of the wrong side of the bed. Sometimes Jeremy you act as if you want to make enemies. Certainly not friends. Are you the sole judge of what is and is not pointless? You are acting as if you are.

Actually... CB speaks the truth. I usually can ignore such stuff, but I'm kind of in a weaker state where I have trouble with everything. But yeah, saying this as a friend: Hold your tongue when you go to say crap like that, no offense dude, but people retaliate badly, like I did, somethetimes... I dunno, I don't feel good right now and will leave it at this so I don't look like more of an asshole like I already feel I do.
