I'm thinking having an acrylic case and reinforcing it somehow and attaching it to a mobile desk thingy would be great for LANs... but yeah, on with your mod! Mine can wait.

Killer idea! I have a USB xmas tree here that cycles through the colors.. it would be easy to tear it apart and use the circuit inside to light the case instead. :D

thats basicly what my computer is right now
ive got 3 lights controllers powering:
9 fans
4= 80mm quad green led high cfm intake outake fans
2 80mm psu fans
2 120mm white like 40 cfm white led fans (yeh relle high but oddly the greens are louder) one a coolermaster geminII cpu cooler
1 80mm led spinning fan (the temp monitoring ones) for intake
4 green leds for top handles
3 led lazer beams thingeys blue rainbow and uv
3 uv ccfls 1 12" 2 6" the 6"ers are powered on one inverter
2 meteor lights (individual inverter 1 red 1 blue
2 12" white ccfls same inverter
2 12inch green ccfls on same inverter

all powered on a 550 watt psu and thats not even counting the specs on the system itself

2 7600gts in sli
dual core brisbane proc (am2)
4 gigs of corsair ram
hdtv tuner pci
dvdrrwdl drive
2 sata drives 250 320 1 ide 160
1 firewire card
it sounds alot better than it actually is

also i didnt spend thousands of dollars on this rig it was a combination of barmitzva money rma mobo refunds bdays hannukkah and the two micro center modding compettion gift cards i won = 500 in total
overall ive spent not much over 1200 dollars and it wasnt jsut for this build i took alot of parts from my previous build
i was very frugal and worked with my dad for alot of this stuff its not like im some rich kid its just i like computers alot
