View Full Version : Great Day!

My dad just called and said that they "voluntarily dropped" my court case or something, no more worrying about that! For those that don't recall what happened or weren't around way back in March, I was basically charged for communicating a threat, here's what happened:

I was having a horrible day... woke up and was barely awake through my first two classes, hadn't had any of my meds to take the night before nor did I have breakfast (I'm hypoglycemic). I got to lunch and we had what I now consider to be "ghetto pizza": hot dog buns, with spaghetti sauce and American cheese on them. I don't know how that is considered lunch, maybe the idiot school system cutting already dismal funding for the cafeteria or something. So yeah, I also had a test in an AP Gov't class I was struggling in and that was bothering me too, so I kind of went on a rant about how I hate the company that supplies most schools with food (SysCo) and about how that test was bothering me. Here's where it gets great. Nobody at that table even listened to my rant, they did the stupid "American" thing and heard bits and pieces, put that together with how I like computers and video games (they didn't know what kind I played, hell, I could've been waiting for Viva Pinata for god's sake) and reported the deal to the "authorities" who happen to be the morons they put in place for the school administration. The deal was, only one of the three people that reported it was there, the other two just knew of it from rumors (the least accurate source of knowledge, second of which is the "news") and I got taken to court, banned from school grounds, and almost spent three weeks in jail.

Now you know why I am so happy. Thank god it's over and hopefully my mind doesn't continue to be pissed off at how stupid people can be, no matter if they're AP students or preschool drop outs.

Discuss this all you want, etc. Just don't start a flame war because then I'll break out the super soakers. :p

Not to start a country flame war or anything, but this happens all over the world, NOT just in America. It is the push for Political Correctness in all aspects of our lives, trying to FORCE people to believe a certain way and also the media playing up every little event no matter how trivial.

At least we don't have people bombing other people because of the Fairytale they follow...

Well maybe you think that because you are descended from from the people that colonised america. Imagine how different the world would be if native americans had car bombs back then?
And BTW i dont support what the IRA did but you would have to be an idiot not to see their point of view and be even slightly sympathetic for the cause

I am a descendant from _many_ peoples including native Americans and do not agree with how any country treats their indigenous people. Mostly bad. And although I am worldly enough to put myself in others shoes and appreciate their point of view I do NOT sympathize with anyone that uses terror and murder to further their cause _especially_ in the name of religion. And I am not saying there is/was an issue that needed fixing, I just do not agree with the method.

BTW my comment was sarcastic and was not specifically directed at the methods of the IRA.

xRyokenx: Congrats on having a heavy weight lifted from your shoulders. In today's society it is a shame that we can not make comments about our feelings without some person mis-interpreting our motives and underlying reasoning.

My SO is a high school teacher in one of the worst parts of San Jose and I worry about her every minute of every day that she is at work because of what I know is going on on her campus (stuff that never makes the news). I am really not surprised by the over reaction to events that happen, I just wish there was another way to handle it since now you are probably labeled at that school and will never get a fair shake. It could have been handled better and with a little more privacy.
This is one of her students;

Airbozo, do a little research and you will find that everything has absolutely nothing to do with religion.
im not going to say any more on the subject
Oh and i did realise that your first comments were sarcastic so no hard feelings :)

Yeah, religion plays a role in some things, but not all, same with politics, and these so called "morals" that have to be the standards for everyone... it's all confusing as hell so I make whatever sense I can and avoid it when I can. Hence why I haven't had another court case recently... just this... bull****.

I agree with this. It is usually just in the "name" of religion or an excuse... Sad.

NO hard feelings at all. I really enjoy the exchange of ideas and information. I wish I had the time while I was in Scotland to make the trip to Ireland and sit down with the Natives over a pint. That is THE best way to find out history and insights into local issues, not reading about it in the paper. I am always open to learning.

You know what term I attribute to most people? Mindless zealots. They live because they don't have the will not to. There are too many people who's entire argument consists of yelling their side (whether they really know what they're talking about or not) at the person they're debating and don't listen to what the other person has to say, hence why I never discuss anything "sensitive" or "controversial" unless I'm with a few specific people.
