That's a pretty old machine so I wouldn't pay any more than 150 for it. 2.8GHz, non HT...512mb of ram... 80gig hdd and 128mb video card.

to measure a screen, simply measure the viewable screen diagonally. If I were him I would not charge 50 dollars for a crt... they are a dime a dozen now-a-days and really, I'd rather throw it in for free than have to get rid of it myself.

Hope this was the information you were looking for...

Yeah, I don't think i will buy it, At school he told me it was like a 150gb HDD, 3.2GHZ, 1gb ram and like a 7600GT. I was like excited, got him to send me the 3dmark and wasn't excited anymore.
EDIT: He said it was like a year old too, but i think its a bit more than that.

woah, he's exaggerating a bit lol... did you say he was a friend....???

Wasabisam

Yeah his a friend goes to my school. And i don't think he exaggerated on purpose, he doesn't know anything about computers, so we were like is the harddrive 150gb and his like err i think so yeah, and questions like that.

$100-150 is still cheap for that though... it'd be good for surfing the web, typing apps, YouTube, etc... not really for gaming though. It could be a sweet mod though... hmm. Why's he selling it anyway?

I built a Pentium D system on newegg with a DVDRW and 1g of ddr2 ram for 200$..

-Jeremy

Just curious, how did that work? What all did you put in it?

You didn't get an OS either, but Linux is fine for most things. I hate how M$ charges so much for Windows, it's nuts. But yeah, I'm betting it'd be easy to set up a cheap PC... then again, my bro's miniature HP was like $500 and it has a C2D, a halfway decent video card, and like 1gb RAM or something, huh. I should set up a server for my PC to go through, although, it'd probably slow down everything, and I don't know how I'd get it to work with wireless like that, huh. Something for in the future when I have a place of my own and a steady job.

Again.. I find ways around that.. ;)

Yep, I'm thinking run a cable between my PC and the other one and have the server with wireless, it'd be something interesting to set up. :D

Yeah, I'm just wondering how much of a lag I'd have playing games online. I'll probably just do like I've been planning and use Windows only for gaming and such and have Linux for surfing the web and media and that good stuff. We'll see what happens, I don't have a computer to use as a server atm.

Cool, something to try out one day. It'll boost my performance too because I don't have a firewall or anything running in the background. Oh yeah, before I get all my PC stuff installed, I was thinking of painting my case, well, the just the inside atm, but black. <--hope someone got somethign from that, lol.

But yeah, gonna get some glow in the dark or some UV paint for the outside and paint a little of the case for the time being. Got a kickass idea, just need some cash...
