so as some of you know i was on vacation at the wicked Algonquin park for 2 weeks. before we took the 7 hour drive we picked up my mom's friend canoe to borrow. this canoe is old and had a leak that we tried to quick fix which later on we found out it started leaking again. so rather than doing a quick fix we went out and got a fiberglass patch kit fixed it good!

this is the third patch i put on. before this patch i stuffed it with resin and loose fiberglass. then i put a small patch over the hole and then this big patch.

and finally the finished product. i left excess resin because its right where the canoe hits the ground.

here is the back with a smaller, not yet leaking, but soon hole.

and thats it finished at the back.
my tips wear gloves as i got a little bit itchy from the sanding the fiberglass. also use gloves when you use your hands to pat down the clothe and not your bare fingers. it took 3 -4 times of washing my hands with soap to get 70% of the resin off. the rest came off with time.
