Seen above is an X-ray of Shafique el-Fahkri, a 20-year-old student who was attacked outside of a Melbourne, Australia nightclub in January. During a brawl, another 20-year-old, Liam Peart, threw a metal-framed chair at Fahkri. The chair leg went through Fahkri's eye socket and down into his neck. Amazingly, Fahkri not only survived but did not lose his eye, which was pushed to the side by the chair leg. From The Age:

(Fahkri) told The Age yesterday that his eye remained very blurry, his body was weak and his neck was stiff after the incident. "I feel all right at the moment, actually, but I am too weak for work," he said in a raspy voice, a consequence of the chair leg passing through his throat.

But he holds no grudges against 20-year-old Liam Peart, who yesterday pleaded guilty to a charge of negligently causing serious injury on January 21.

"I forgive him, totally," Mr Fahkri said, a sentiment confirmed by Peart's barrister Duncan Allen, SC, in the Melbourne Magistrates Court.

VERY luckily, he somehow missed all of the internal organs. The guy who did it got lucky, if he was millimeters in any other direction, he could've easily killed that guy, and would be facing even more criminal charges.

Although, I would probably forgive him if he gave me a SINCERE apology. It seems almost like a sick, sick accident. Sure, I wouldn't hang around him, and I probably would never talk to him ever again. It was probably an accident of the excitement from throwing around chairs.
(this was an edit to agree with the statement below. I'm just so... confrontational.)

I think the shock from what all had happened would set me straight about throwing chairs at people. I'd also have to say that if he apologized for the act and if he payed for the medical bill and everything else that needed to be paid for, I'd forgive him. I don't hold grudges, I have enough **** going on and I destroy myself well enough without help from hating someone else. What a thing to happen though... that just gives me shivers, that or it's the low temp. of this room and my low body temp. from being sick... freaky schtuff.

Assuming he agreed to pay the charges (and probably some compensation), I'd forgive him.

But probably never talk to him ever again.

Yea i will forgive him, if he paid the bill, and would pay for a good amount of the total amount of income lost because of being too weak to work. But I would be in his face after the incident, and got better. look all calm, then start shouting "Why in the friggin world would you throw a chair at me?" and then i would be good.

Nah, it's better to forgive and forget. Then hire someone to "take care of him". If anything, "I forgave and forgot" makes a pretty convincing alibi in court. ;)

Jesus. H. Christ.

The H is a common misconception actually. :D It's actually an S, for Santiago.

Jesus Santiago Christo is the full name, Jesus being pronounced "Hey-zeus".

:D :D :D
