View Full Version : Question about TT LCS tubing.

I'm piecing my TT LCS back together and plan on putting the pump/reservoir in the upper part of the case closer to the radiator.

As a result the tubes are a little too long and I was wondering if anyone could give me some info/advice on them.

The cooling system from TT actually has 2 types of tubing.
One is the the black rubber tubes attached directly to the radiator and the other is the rather ugly lime green tubing
that connects to the black tubing and then goes on to the pump and waterblock.

What I'm wondering is how can I shorten the cabling and also should I shorten it? Will a smaller run of tubing increase or decrease the cooling performance?

Right now each of the black tubs is 3' long and that's probably about 1' 6" longer then I need for the loop.

If I should shorten it, is it better to replace both the green and black tubing or should I just cut down the black tubing and reattach it to the radiator? Or should I get rid of the green UV tubing and just use the black that comes directly from the radiator?

Anyone have any advice or own a TT LCS and has already modified their water cooling loop?

I wouldn't listen to myself.. but I have some advice: a tube should be as short as possible, either shortened to look good or to work better.. but as short as you can be happy with
so, the way the hose is connected seems to be modding friendly.. not completely, but all joints seem ok. I hope there isn't any glue on the black tubing, cause the way it is mounted looks like it would need some.
If you like the black tubing, as it as much as you can. I think it is fairly safe to cut the tubes, if you are careful when reattaching them.. check for leaks, of course.

but keep the tubing that is better: keeps its shape, is more flexible and only finally the one that looks good. :) I'm a wee bit tired, so I'm not sure how much sense my post had.. wait for some more input..
