Welcome to TBCS Tom looks like your work alone has loads of inspiration for modding. Look forward to seeing what plans you have afoot.

Good to see another Brit .. there's a few of us around :)

Welcome to the forums!

I wouldn't mind doing an ITX mod sometime and make a really small PC.

I like to think I've been transplanted against my will after spending 8 years over there:p

And welcome Torn. We had a unit like that at my McDs in Massachusetts. It was a little different style but same idea i think. Internet Kiosk right? I wondered if those took Mini-ITX or Micro-ATX. i guess now I know.

Welcome to the forums!

I wouldn't mind doing an ITX mod sometime and make a really small PC.

I've spec-ed a home entertainment PC including DVD + HDD drive's mobo dual-core CPU, 1G ram, digital TV tuner and touch-screen control - all housed in a 15cm x 15cm x 15cm aluminium or steel cube. External power pack was needed. Also needed is about £500 I don't have right now and for soundraph to agree to deal with me which they don't want to do :dead: uuurgh

hehe

yeh, there mini ITX in the "ITboxes"... but the ones in there are pretty much the size of micro ATX though!

I'v got a board sitting on my spares table that is this:

http://www.ibase-europe.com/images/mb877_600.jpg

and we can get them smaller aswell.

the smallest i think we make is somthing like this:

I've been daydreaming about one of these babies which are 10cm x 7.2cm and include onboard VGA 100MB Lan 6 channel sound and 4 USB ports & etc oh and DVI or VGA out:

My thinking exactly hehe .. yep 1 x (up to) 1G SODIMM DDR2 533Mhz

:)

specs:

ProcessorSupports VIA C7 1.0GHz NanoBGA2 ProcessorChipsetVIA VX700 Advanced All-in-One System ProcessorMemory1 x DDR2 533 SODIMM slot underneath board (up to 1 GB)GraphicsIntegrated UniChrome™ Pro II 3D/2D AGP with MPEG-2/4 and WMV9 Video Decoding AccelerationAudioVIA VT1708A High Definition Audio CodecLANVIA VT6106S 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet Controller with Power Management Functions

Oh ... and they come smaller though its a "thin client" and not a full PC this one fits in an ethernet socket on the wall.

The housing: DVI or VGA sound, USB sockets:

The thin client PC inside (AMD Proc 64M Disk On Chip system memory 128M Ram):

hmm. nah. thin clients are cool. and a wonderfull solution to some problems(office space, application licencing laws, etc..) but not for me..

although, i wonder if that would take a copy of windows XP embedded?

gonna start on my guitar amp mod (i know, its been done before, but its a Xmas present for a guitar mad family member!) soon, getting the amp tomorrow from my manager, so i might take a few photos while i strip it down at work in my lunch break! hehe
