And with the central area larger :) maybe with more pipes. And how good a contact can a pivoting heat pipe make? just ranting :) Still, I would use that thing in a build where it would be overkill and use the looks as a center piece.. I mean, it is sooo shiny.

Yea, I don't know about their more expensive stuff, but they're cheaper stuff is definitely cheaper for a reason.

I bought a computer case from them a little while ago, it came double boxed and still got beat up. Thats how cheap and flimsy the material was. I could actually bend any part of the case with my forefinger and thumb. But then again, it _was_ only fifteen dollars. lol

That said, I liked the design of the case. It was really nice for fifteen buckaroos. The two side panels were actually two side panels that you could remove with a screwdriver too, that was really nice I thought.

I also bought two 120mm case fans from them. They too were also flimsy and one of them in now broken. But then again, they were only like three dollars. lol

Moral of the story, don't be a cheap ass unless you don't mind cheap stuff. The next case that I'm going to buy is either going to be Lian Li or the Nzxt Adamas. I'll probably still buy cheap case fans though. lol

How good is that heat pipe design at dissipating the heat? It looks like a traditional heat sink would be more effective at dissipating the heat from the processor.

no heatpipes do work good, the thermalright ultra 120 extreme is the best cooler out there and it has 6 heat pipes. also its the only way it gets the heat from the block to the fins.

With the help of Google, I learned how the heat pipes work. They have a fluid in them that evaporates to move the heat. Then the cooling fins turn the gas back into a liquid. It is the next best thing to water cooling.

the both blow in the same direction so there should be no problems in terms on airflow.

I'm considering ditching my TT Blue Orb II for the Thermalright 120-ultra Extreme. It says six heat pipes, but I consider that twelve, as some products only have the heat pipes protruding from one side of the block.

Around $60-$70, cheapest of course at Newegg.com (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835109140). I was just there looking at it, seems to have a quality control issue with 15% of their customers. Something about a warped base. I'll wait a few more months or something, maybe they'll have that under wraps by then. T_T

Thats okay though, I'm only running a 2.8 P4 right now. The Blue Orb II is owning this processor, it doesn't even get warm. ^_^

The "IFX-14" is $79.95, I could only find it on their website from a quick google search. The "Thermalright CITY", as Spawn called it, is just a collection of all Thermalright compatible coolers for that board and its add-on's (gpu, ram, etc).

oh, um, the "Thermalright CITY" would cost around... a buhgillion dollars. lol Actually, its something around $160 (by my calculations at least). That would be a good setup for a case that had case fans for a side panel. XD

Maybe I'll get the Thermalright City next time I build a PC. That thing is sweet and I love me some air cooling. I tend to screw stuff up and you can't really short out anything if there's no water, well, you can, but it's harder.
