I tried searching the forums for like 10 mins.... nothing came up.

so..

What is the best way to test new hardware? I got my new Mobo and GPU. I already have my CPU, Power Supply, HDD, and DVD-ROM. What do you suggest as a good way to test it without intsalling into a case? Also how to trouble shoot.

If you don't have RAM don't even bother.

Otherwise, set it up on a table. BEWARE OF STATIC ELECTRICITY. You should be fine, but just be careful. There's nothing wrong with setting it up with this, in fact, that's how my server is set up (albeit in a cardboard box, but it's the same idea). All you need to do is short the power switch pins with a flathead screwdriver.

The mobo is just sitting on top of the plastic cover/box it was packaged in along with the foam mat. The CD drives and HDD are sitting on the anti-static bag that my 8800GTX came in. I have had no trouble so far and it works great cos I'm still modding my case.

Oh and Spawn, my mobo has those on board switches also, works great lol. (Under the last PCI-e slot about three quarters across from the left)

My mistake, I thought you wanted a way to verify operation OF your hardware and to test it...

Carry on...

Taken from his project LEXA thread where the same question was posed:
@Ouch! - Yeah I wish haha, na they are DVD's that I get with a computer mag subscription. Every issue has over 9GB of goodness lol.

Maybe the girls on the side are the reason? :D

That's been asked once before, I apparently they came with a gaming magazine. Uh huh ;).

Edit: Wow, I didn't see the 3 posts above me lol. Looks like it's been answered.

.Maleficus. is right lol, they did come from an Australian gaming magazine called PC Powerplay, check out their website www.pcpowerplay.com.au. They got a lot of reviews and they are pretty good with their tech knowledge. Gee you guys have dirty minds, you all just presume that all those DVD's are pr0n lol.
