Right here (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834114384) is what I consider to be a very nice deal on a gaming laptop. 17" screen, 2GB DDR2 RAM, 240GB Hard Drive, Full Keyboard, nice DX10 Graphics. The processor is just ok, but Im sure that would still make a very nice gaming laptop.

Sweet, thats not a bad price at all. Psh, the processor is just OKAY? Man, I'd kill to have processing power thats more than 2.8Ghz Pentium 4 for once in my life. lol

I thought HD DVD was supposed to be expensive? That seems like a very reasonably priced laptop now. Has the HD DVD price dropped that much already?

Has an HDMI port too, nice!

Six USB ports? Jeesh!

Double HDD Bay? Desirable much?

Wireless A/G/N? Oooh... very nice!

Heres (http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=3856) a review that really shows off the laptop nicely. Look at those game fps-not bad at all!

Man, I hope my parents will help me get that for my college-required laptop. By the way. that review said that the whole laptop stayed pretty cool...

For $1500, you can get an Alienware instead. Although, the hardware is almost the same. But hey, that means you can brag about having an Alienware too.

Actually, this laptop beats any alienware for $1500... For under $2000 you can't get a DX10 Graphics card, an HD-DVD Drive or a 17" Screen. Alienwares are kinda excessively expensive.

hmm, I'll ad that to my comparison list. I'm thinking I'm going to get the Asus G1-A1 for the same price, but the specs arn't quite as good, although I believe it has a better graphics card. Although the HD-DVD would be nice....ugh..I hate decisions. Although I really don't like 17inch laptops, I carry mine everywhere with me and the size is really an inconvenience.

either way its still a really great deal. Does anyone know if there's going to be a new gen of laptop graphics cards coming out? I know the current set has been ontop for nearly 7 months now, if there are more coming out, we could see more prices drops (important for a college kid like me :p)

nvidia just released the M8800GTX for laptops. Laptops around this price range should have that sometime soon...

The M8700 on this toshiba is pretty nice, but its only about half as powerful as the M8800GTX will be.

thanks Indy. +rep for saving me some dough. I was literally just moving funds to my checking account in another tab so I could buy my G1. I'll look into some more about release dates for the M8800GTX and try to hold off. I just need to get my laptop to stop that annoying "Windows cannot be found" (or something like it) error I keep getting. Come on old girl, just a little longer!
