Ok heres the low down. I have an old case not in use that i have been planning on modding. The plan was to replace the meshed side and top with clear acrylic with an etching on it. It was never a great case in the first place but i had added two sets of cold cathodes and some new fans to liven it up.

My brothers birthday is in 2 weeks and the case has been sitting in the corner for months so i decided i would do this window mod for his birthday. After looking into the case and stripping the fans etc away i found that the hard drive cage was detachable and that there where another 2 80mm fan ports there that have been un used. I then took apart the front panel and realized with some effort i could replace this entire panel. Currently the case has been striped down to its inside shell and all the useful parts removed from the front panel.

On the front panel is audio ports, 2 usb ports and a firewire which are attached to the same circuit board, a screen displaying temperatures and fan speeds, the power, reset, speaker and 2 leds with their own switch (their where 4 but 2 got damaged when removed)

Here is a manufacturers picture of the original case:

And a picture of the case when used by myself:

The case has now been completely stripped down and is ready for measuring up. Tomorrow afternoon i am taking it into collage and will decide on what materials to use and how best to use them. here is the pictures of the case as it is now.

I took the case into collage today and started to mock up the panels on paper. I got around to the top panel and the side panel is almost ready. I also mocked up the layout of the front of the case to make sure the wiring would reach, the power and reset buttons are the only issue and so i will need to lengthen their wires.
