I think it'd be pretty fun to use a gun-type controller for fps games. I've found some MICE that look like guys buy you pretty much just use it as a mouse lol.

I'm looking for the whole point and shoot deal. Any suggestions? Has anyone ever used one for PC? I was thinking the new Logitech MX Air (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104089) would be good to make one but it's a little pricey...especially if there's already something out there.

If I remember, they required CRT monitors or TVs.

I found another one on ebay for 180 bucks. My buddy was interested. I myself don't see how these would make a FPS better. +rep for the response!

Ya, the only thing i could see this as useful would be like House of the Dead series or some other arcade port. Controlling movement when your trying to handle the gun would be a biatch.

Ive seen the Wii remote modded for pc use somewhere. Perhaps that could be put to use much like that logitech mx air?

i have a light gun for ps2 and its fun to use but you can enjoy the same game without it. its also fun with the wii for RE4 :), as for the wiimote being used with pcs you can and i have. you need a blue tooth dongle and a program to tell the computer what the movements mean from the wiimote. i had downloaded a program to turn the wiimote into a mouse but it wasn't very good, but i think it was the program.

hmm...WASD for movement, the gun for shooting...hmm.

This requires more research...

It would only work with games such as time crisis. The wasd/mouse setup in most FPS games would be completely uncompatiable.

Set it up like on the Wii, make it so when you move the pointer towards the edges of the screen it moves in that direction. Like CoD3 for the Wii... that or Metroid Prime 3.

EDIT: Considering you can figure out how to do so though...

A good friend of mine has something like this. It is a handgun that uses infrared if I remember correctly and there are two bars that he has attached to his monitor to triangulate it's position. It even has a recoil action. I think he imported it direct from Japan.
