Unreal Tournament III Demo [Archive]

Who here has played it? If you didn't know, the demo was in fact released today. It contains three levels, one of which has a dark walker on it. By the way I absolutely love dark walkers: heres a video I made of me playing with one:

The graphics are absolutely beautiful. They're about the same as Gears of War graphics. For those of you who are wondering, the game ran 60fps @ 1680x1050 on my system. I was very suprised that it ran that good on my comp, shows that the game is very well optimized.

Go download it right now, you will not regret trying it out.

That looks freakin' sweet. I'll look into getting that too, it has the crazy SciFi stuff and is awesome. We'll see what happens, I have a few other things I want to buy and one of them is Crysis.

Ditto, been playing it since morning. How high are you settings im playing maxed out with 60FPS @ 1680x1050.

It's not an official release it was leaked apparently.

Oh and anyone done online yet? Damn sweet, btw this is the first UT i have played. But online is SOOO laggy, and i mean it.

Im playing w/ the exact same numbers as you. Max graphics, ~60fps, 1680x1050.

The only online games I could get to load where the ones with like 30 people where you died every 3 seconds.

You should download it using a torrent, I had mine downloading by torrent and normal (gamershell), and by the time the torrent was done gamershell was only at 42%.

Considering that GamersHell crapped out on me, I'll go with the torrent.

EDIT: I do hate downloading stuff though... I always get to about 90-99% and it dies. CURSE YOU EMBARQ!

I was getting like 20KBps from GamersHell, I just have **** for internet. Note to all: Don't go with Embarq, they'll give high speeds for a month or two and then they'll start dropping your bandwidth down. That and the phone service requires you to freakin' dial six to ten times to get a line out.

Weird, I was getting like 250Kb/s on the torrent and like 40Kb/s on gamershell.

My internet service is horrible. That and I always have three people playing World of WarCRAP, so that doesn't help it out at all. On the bright side, the internet's not doing too bad with two torrents about about 20-40KBps and Steam downloading at 400kbps.

At uni (downloaded it twice for certain reasons), I got over 1MB/s

With my 8600GT in windows XP, I'm averaging about 30-45FPS depending on whether I'm on the ground, hoverboard or in a vehicle.

Ive been playing it on and off since yesterday and i love it. i plan to buy the full version as soon as it comes out. BTW on graphics maxed 1280x1024 i get between 25 and 45 FPS on my system.(I know, my video card is bottlenecking)

Oh, I should mention, that this game almost puts my 4 cores at 100% loading, so it's definitely multi core.

I tried it out and *GASP!* didn't like it too much... It's way too run and gun for my liking. But oh well, time to find something else, lol. On the bright side, it had interesting vehicles and cool guns.

OMFG I'm already in love. UT2k4 was my favorite game unitl HL2, but THIS OWNS!

I was just doing Instant Action games, but holy ****e! I wanted to just walk around and look at the scenery! If I had any money at all, I'd preorder it today.

Thanks dude, but the new drivers fixed it.

There are some really nice new features in this. I mean, hoverboard?! AWESOME. I played Vehicle CTF for like 2 hours yesterday. It never got old. I'm so pumped for the release.. Thank God I quit my job.

I can't imagine you'd need many upgrades if its just jumpy (as in much better than unplayable). As I've been saying, this game is really well optimized...

I'd say. I'm running it at 1024x768 on my X1600Pro no problems.

Speaking of which, I'm about to play now...

I put it on my pc on lowest graphics and i still get lag.
Specs:
7600GT
Pentium 4. 3.2ghz ( says its duel core when i load my system, But it isnt :S)

well :dead: i just played on a gamearena internet server, no lag, so i guess its just single player that lags abit. Anyways about the game, Its a great game BUT it is way to fast, people were going so fast around me i missed nearly every shot. And i did notice, theres already clans around. Some of these players are hardcore, one guy that came first had 53 kills and 11 deaths, My best was 21 kills and 34 deaths lol.

I would agree. These hardcore gamers out there make it kind of difficult to have much fun when you keep dying every 5 seconds. But the graphics are amazing!. -Oh and I didn't experience any lag at all. But it did reboot my machine a few times before It worked.

Actually, though they may be hardcore, the damage scale in the game was designed to make the game extremely fast paced. They raised the damage, but kept the health the same.
