I'm planning on building a case from ground up (not on top of a pre-existing case) and was wondering if there were design factors that I need to consider to prevent electrical shock from static. Thanks! :santa:

My advice is to look at a case made by a really trusted brand and see how it was designed by the way of stuff like that. For the record, I'm not recommending you copy their case to the letter, just see what features, etc. it has.

Okay, just a question, on many of the cases I've bought, there was this "grounding" cable/wire, what was I suppose to plug that into if any?

I'm really not sure... do a Google or Wikipedia search or check the book that came with the case, if any. I do know that anti-static wristbands have you clip it to the case or put it in the grounding hole of a power outlet (the round one, NOT the slots)... but I don't know if that's where you're supposed to put it.

_Usually_ the grounding wire attaches to the power supply chassis since the ground from the incoming power is tied internally to the PSU chassis. (Not that I have voided any of my PSU warranties by opening them up...)

BY screwing the PSU to the computer chassis, you are making the ground connection.

ah ok, makes sense thanks for the clarification.
