I was just wondering if there is a mobo compatible with my current comp. so that I would not need to buy anything else...I have a hp a1034n. I want to upgrade because all I have is pci not pci-e..=(

The only thing I can think of is you get a new case and motherboard. That would work, just means a lot of work transferring stuff from one case to the other.

There is a lot of boards out there for that processor (LGA775)... the thing that I'm not sure of would be your memory (DDR2 400/ PC2-3200). The boards I found supported your processor FSB and socket, but the memory supported started at DDR2 533. I think it would still work, just slower then if using the 533.

Here (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=40000280%201070625638%201070713688&Description=LGA%20775&bop=And&Order=PRICE) are some from Newegg. Just a reference. There is only 2 in that list that use AGP, so be careful. Other then my being unsure of the memory, you are almost limitless at the moment...

Hope this helps and Good Luck.

I was looking at this one (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131030)

I have Asrock ConRoe865pe and i have no problem with it. My e4300 is oc`d to 2,5 Ghz.
But you have to remember that pci-e line is limited to x4 :(

For BF2 you could build a PC cheap and easy. Just look on www.newegg.com if you live in the US and get a cheap ASUS or similar brand motherboard with a PCIe slot and get an 8500 or something. What're the specs of your PC that you have now? You could probably reuse some of the parts if they're not too outdated.

It would be great to reuse parts to keep the cost down.:) So how much with reusing do you think it will be?
