It says he used liquid nitrogen but it doesn't specify how it was used.

Wow tho what a huge ammmount of money just to calculate pi :P I applaude the ability to do it but unless you're totally richa nd this is just a hobby i find it a huge waste of money cuz the thing isnt capable of staying on all the time.

Liquid nitrogen won't 'flash-freeze' anything that it only comes in short contact with. You could dunk your hand into it for a second and nothing happens. It's only when you hold it in there for a bit.

Well, something would happen. It would hurt like hell and your top like 30-40 layers of skin would die. It would NOT be a good thing. But yes I have looked at liquid nitrogen cooling. And it just is too expensive. You would have to constantly keep replacing that stuff. And it is not cheap.

I've done it and it feels like reaching into a cooler of ice. COLD

Actually if you wanted to use it for only alittle while, like for an OC, it wouldn't cost that much money for the N2 itself. I think its about $20 a gallon, I could be wrong, but thats what my chem teacher told me last year.

Seeing had how liquid N2 it about 40 degrees celsius cooler than dry ice. And that dry ice will give your hand burns within 4 seconds... and that liquid transfers heat faster than a solid when fully immersed due to surface area. I think that it would only take like 1-3 seconds to give your hand freezer burns.

Also but did you actually touch it? If you just reached into the ocntainer then that won't do anything.

i seen a picture where some people put a bucket lined with metal over the motherboard, and poured the LN into it. Took the temps down to something like -34C. Now thats cooooool!
