Yea, doesn't make a whole lot of sense does it? I think we would be better off with the drinking age being at 18 or 19. Most other countries don't have issues with letting peoples drink when they become an adult. Kind of funny I guess, since we seem to be the country with the largest alcohol related problems. That could be do to the fact that we slap people on the wrist instead of giving them a hefty fine though. Well, then again, we are still a fairly young country compared to others. I'm sure we'll figure it out eventually. Until then though, Canada or bust! Woo hoo!

Just thought of something else too. Isn't it funny how when we turn of "age", we are treated like adults in any given situation, we can smoke cigarettes which damages are lungs and makes us unhealthy, we can vote in elections such as ones which can and will decided the future of our country, we can watch, produce or participate in adult media, we can choose to marry at our own free will, we can legally (depending on your state, some its 16) participate in fornication (is that the right word?), and we can even join up to defend our country and if the call arises we can even take the life of another human being for the defense of ones country. We can do it, all of it, legally, because we're adults (in america at least) at the age of 18. But what we can't do, is consume alcohol legally until three years later when we turn 21? Isn't it also true that most people under 21 drink and party because its almost "voodoo", because its human nature to want to do what were not supposed to?

Yea, they just raised the smoking age here in the UK to 18, so its 18 for drink and fags, but there was talk of rasing the drinking age to 21 though, i belive this is due to the number of drink drivers.

But im not fussed, being 21 going on 22 soon, it dosen't matter too much to me.

Yea here is the same as england 18 all round but i really like the thinking in the mainland european countries drinking at 15/16!!
And on a side note to my home county (sligo) recently came out of a survey as the heaviest drinking county in Ireland, and since the Irish are generally accepted to be the heaviest drinkers in the world......
And even though I'm only 16 i'm proud to have contributed somewhat to this!!
