I've decided I'm going to plan a PC case modded with LEGOs and possibly make it later this year. My plans are to take some of those flat plates and put them on some of it and have some platforms and stuff glued onto the case or something... I'll do a sketch later and look up some pieces I want to use on the thing. It'll be something really SciFi as I love SciFi and it'll be kickass. I've spent 6-8hrs on small ships and stuff getting them to be perfect, I can't wait to work on this. I'll put about $100-250 to the side after I get a job for this, right now, it's in planning. My bro will **** himself when he sees this, hahahaha, that kid loves LEGOs, but not as much as me. ^_^

So yeah, I'll list some parts later and what I plan to use them for, class starts in about ten to fifteen minutes and I'll give it some thought. 8)

I've got a few ideas, no sketches yet, what do you guys have imaginations for anyway?

I think I'm gonna get some little fans and line a few up or make some exhaust vent looking things with grated walkways over them... and maybe make an internal lattice thing with a plexi window there and have some blast doors that slide open with the case is turned on. I'll put some spotlights and floodlights on it for accent lighting along with some turrets. I'll have to buy some "troops" and make decals for them so they're customized how I want them to look and maybe have a hangar on top or out of some unused drive bays... we'll see what happens, I don't want to go over more than $250, which is up there and I doubt I'll need that much worth of LEGOs.

Why don't you make a LEGO town/city, i personally havn't seen this before, it would be extremely unique...

maybe do a ship or something

There are loads of things like that, haha, do a Google search. I would make a city or something but I don't have enough parts... I think I should pick up about eight bigass sets with parts that I think I could use and just use those, it would be cheaper than buying everything by the piece anyways. We'll see what happens... it's still in the planning stage, lol.

Have you played with this (http://ldd.lego.com/download/) yet?

Fun stuff and may actually help...

Yes, and I hated it. They could make it a lot more simple and easier to use. I think I may just build a small blast door room thing in place of a couple drive bays with a catwalk around it and put a landing pad on top. That'd kick ass, I'll do some measuring with parts I have atm.

Not sure if you tried the new version yet, but they made it easier to use...

I'll take a look, the last one had limited parts and I kept sticking crap to the bottom of my creation, so we shall see, heh heh.

That was the issue I had too. Could not get the parts in the right Z axis. I have not played around with version 2 yet, but will in the next couple of days. I remember someone using Google SU to make lego parts too but don't see how that would help since you have to line the parts up to make sure they fit. AT one time I was toying with the idea of a full tower case made of lego...(I have enough parts to make it happen too).

One of the best parts of that software (if you can actually finish a model that is) is the online ordering thingy.

This is actually working out quite well... much better than the old one and there isn't that limited parts bullcrap. We'll see how much it costs to order, that'd be sweet.

Just go to my gallery on here, I have the first two designs posted there: http://ryoken-ryagnaroth.deviantart.com/

I think I'll just order it through their stupid online service that seems to charge 10% more than the price of a set with equal pieces.
