EDIT: It's a multi choice poll by the way ^^^^^
Having noticed a widespread tendency towards the "mine is bigger than yours" habit of thinking and perceiving emerging in threads that never started out that way I thought I would post a poll for amusements sake.
By the way I recognise I am as guilty of this as anyone else.

So not laughing at myself now... well i am a little.

I'm interested in what people who voted for "something else entirely" think is the real measure of a real man.

if you see boxes, it usually means multi and circles usually mean only 1 choice.
i voted for pc power, even though mine isn't the best... yet!
and post count for fun :)

I meant to vote for "something else entirely" too... but forgot to, lol.
I think it really depends on how they are as a person and many other factors too...

***** size, bandwidth, processor power and "get a life man" here.
Why?
Well, I've got a 22mbit speedtest, a Core 2 duo, and well... ;)

Good one Luke ... could indeed have included this - and wish I had. I think it is very related to "His ability to laugh and/or cry at himself" yet would have been a good addition to the poll.
It's interesting how many people voted for "This is a dumb poll - get a life man" and voted for other options (me included yet I was, in all honesty, being self depreciating and trying to get the ball rolling). Ironcat, and Wasabisam both get full marks for voting for that choice only and no other. Zephik managed to vote for every choice except "His TBCS postcount" including that one.
I'm glad to see that "His ability to laugh and/or cry at himself" is up their in lead position at the moment alongside "His computer's processing power". Being a computer related forum no surprise that one is doing well.
It is a public poll so if you want to see the full list of who voted for each choice just click on any of the number counts to the right to see who voted for what. I suppose that means some people may be put off voting but hey "it's just a bit of fun" so go ahead.

Definition of real man: A man I would possibly consider dating.
His computer's processing power: If he doesn't have a good computer, then he doesn't like computers, therefore we are not compatible in any way, shape or form, and the relationship is doomed from the start.
His bank balance/car: A man without money is a burden to everyone. A man who doesn't have a license, let alone a car, has to catch public transport and is thus late, doesn't have a phone to let his girlfriend know he is going to be late, then has to borrow money from his girlfriend to pay for the bus fare back home, is definitely not a real man.
His ability to laugh/cry at himself: I'm not really as shallow as my above statements might have indicated. Personality maketh the man. I wouldn't mind having a boyfriend with a computer running windows 95, and i'd lend him all the bus fare money in the world, if he had a great personality. If he is nice, gallant/sweet, humorous, honest, trusting and trustworthy, can hold a conversation, is giving and generous, and can look back on his mistakes and laugh and learn, then he is a real man.

Wow, "The old one" is trailing behind a few others. Just shows the the modder confidence level I guess :D.
My votes...
The old one
Something else entirely
This is a dumb poll
I could have voted for processor power, and been a pretty big man, but...
Nah, I won't say it :D.

Good point! +rep
This is one of the most seemingly harmless threads I've ever seen.
A real man?
1) A real man is a guy who knows what he wants to do and does something about it.
2) A real man is a guy who is sensitive to people when needed but always ready to be rough
3) A real man finds "The Old One" reason to be extremely hilarious
Then if a guy can combine all of that then he is "the man".
By the way no one cares how big your e-p3nis is and how much of a man it makes you.

It's a multichoice poll, therefore the percentage of people that voted for each option is shown. This figure indicates that on average people voted 1.89 times each.

Too much information? .... or is it a case of "The lady protesteth too much"? .... and no we don't want evidential proof, but thanks anyway.

lol. I will just keep my mouth shut from now on :D.
A man who can laugh & cry at himself.
People take themselves too seriously. They wrap themselves up in this notion of 'identity' and never go back to see if that reflects who they are or who they are trying to be.
I do it too, everyone is guilty of it.
Life is serious, you don't have to be.
To me, a real man is someone who is honest with himself & those around him about the things that truly matter. Someone who can be tender & loving when it's required, or a cold-hearted brute when required.

Reminds me of a quote from a book I just read:
"Jimmy, do you ever take anything seriously?"
"I take life seriously but I don't want it to take me seriously."
...or something along those terms. :D
