either that or xfx. id say wait a month. theyll be on ebay for 199 by then.

btw im pretty sure that 8800gt uses the same mounting system as gts and gtx. so if you have a block for one of those im pretty sure itll work. i know the hr 03 plus works with it.

I figured as much. I WAS going to order my blocks and everything today, but Newegg is now out of stock for the MCW60... And I just put it in the cart yesterday!

SWEET! I've been looking for something in between that big ass gap of 320 and 640 :o)

**EDIT**

Why is it cheaper than the 8800gts 320mb? lol

Seriously?? Now it really doesn't make sense that it's cheaper than the 320

I canceled the one from zipzoomfly. I hate those bastards...

Anyways, Newegg has them.

XFX 8800gt (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150252)

EVGA 8800gt (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130303)

ASUS 8800gt (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121099)

EDIT- FYI, I got the XFX. Always been a fan of them even though it may not have the fastest clock speeds... yet.

Nice danthegeek!

I'm still waiting though (mainly 'cause I only have like $250 and I really want to finish my WC setup). I could wait a couple weeks and buy one when I have enough, but...

And I want an EVGA un-overclocked card. I'll be able to OC to equal or more than that, and it'll be cheaper .

they usually cost about 10 more. and have higher voltages in the bios leading to higher possible ocs

Leadtek have announced that they're making it. Can't wait for them to release these cards in Australia, one of those will tide me over and not break my upgrade budget.

Hopefully I can get one before the LAN Party at the end of November.

$234.08 - OOS

Prices will go down in a week or so. Most of the sites that have them at such high prices, didn't have them in the beginning.
This card is in HIGH demand. It is seeling like hot-cakes. You will see sub $250 prices everywhere soon (after the initial rush).

My gf and I decided on a 200 dollar limit so now I'm able to order mine tomorrow when I put the money for the laptop I just sold in the bank! I'm excited as hell!

Right after I posted this I checked the egg and every. single. 8800gt. is sold out. :( "Free Quake Wars game included" I hope that offer carries over! Hell, just throw it on eBay... basically 15 bucks off right there.

"I'm playing the Crysis Demo right now with an average of 45 fps. With this card. I'm playing at a respectable resolution of 1366x 768 right now, (Everything cranked up to the max with 2x AA and 8x AF)"

I'm curious about this review... shouldn't it be getting a lot higher frames at that res? I thought it beat the 8800gts 640mb card? Or am I just putting the 8800 lineup on a pedestal and thinking they are unstoppable?

EDIT:: That review was with the EVGA SSC version btw... (+100MHz core clock/+200MHz mem clock over stock...) or maybe he posted on the wrong card.

No, that card at that res and settings is getting pretty decent framerates I think. From what ive been seeing that demo is putting a strain on a lot of cards. Even the 8800gtx's are getting lower framerates than what I expected. Crysis is going to be one demanding game afterall it seems.

I think I'm going to buy a 360 elite instead of the card. My 7950gt will last me a little while longer, meanwhile the prices can drop a little bit :)

Crysis is the beginning of the directx10 games, and this is the beginning of the DX10 cards. Somehow, they can only get better from here and someday there will be something that can play crysis TOTALLY cranked up. In a year, we will look back and be like "You only have an 8800gt? UPGRADE already if you want to play "crysis 2- the little pony incident" and half life 3".

I can't wait for half life 3 though.

Half Life 2 Episodes 1, 2, and 3 ARE Half Life 3.

Depending on how soon I'll be able to get an 8800GT, I may or may not get one. If it will be before Jan. '08, then I'll buy one. If not, I'll wait until the cards have OpenGL 3 support. But, it looks like I'll have the money for one before January, so who knows.

MSY is getting upto 10 calls a day regarding the 8800GT!!

But I'm hoping they have it before next weekend.
