i'd like to see what it can do, but i fear, that, like all it's predecesors, nintendo will be a step behind sony and microsoft.. and the new entry gizmondo.. i'm not a nintendo fan, but i do own a gameboy advance, and i like da games.. so i'm being objective here

I'm interested in how it will do. Nintendo has carved themselves a very nice niche market - they appeal to parents, younger kids, women and a certain devoted set of the male market. They are not competing directly with Sony and MS, they are doing what they have always done best - putting out quality innovative games and focusing on building a strong core set of entertainment games, rather than getting into the arms race that MS/Sony are currently in.

That said, I think that they have been too reliant on Miamoto's (albiet brilliant) vision as of late and have not built successful new franchises and have allowed some of their better titles to stagnate a bit, as they have with Mario. I have not been thoroughly enthralled by a Mario game since Super Mario World for the N64.

They have, however, built very innovative new games, such as Nintendogs, Animal Crossing, the WarioWare series, and Pikmin, that are incredible in their innovation and success, but appeal to a rather limited market. Lucky for them that limited market is their core audience, who will follow them to the Revolution with evough numbers to make it a success, with any luck.

Those that doubt Nintendo's vision and ability to create entertaining innovation need to spend half an hour with WarioWare Touched, Warioware Twisted, and an hour with Nintendogs on the DS, giving them an open mind.

Plus, I'm pulling for them because I was practically raised with a NES controller in my hand. That, and my older brother works for Nintendo of America, and this year he actually got them to spring for an extra pass to E3, and let me stay in his hotel room - a stunning one on Hollywood Boulevard. Thanks! lol

[edit: Forgot - Katamari Damacy was for PS2, not Gamecube.]

Yeah I don't think this will be a good system at all. Here is a link about the new controller. Its a tv remote that you wave around in the air to perform actions. Are you supposed to throw the controller on the ground when you want to tackle someone in a football game?

Yeah, I like the new controller. I think that we have been to set in the controler side of things since the N64 so some new thinking is greatly appreciated. I am not really a console kinda guy (You know, PC all the way!) but if I were to get one the only one I would go for would be the Revolution. This is because I can't buy an XBOX 360 (Micro$oft = Firefox haters) and I can't buy a PS3 (I have totally lost all support for SONY since they created that patch that said "you cannot use the internet browser that comes on the games, but don't worry we will release one in a few months which you can buy for just $50 bucks") so I think that I would have to get a Revolution. Then again, maybe I should just pour more money into the bottomless hole that is my computer. After all it looks like we are all going to need a serious upgrade when Vista hits.

i agree, i mean no matter what design you use that combo will win. I remember trying to play Halo2 with my friends on Xbox... I wanted to throw it out the window...
