OK yes I am yelling!

Had a pretty good trembler last night, measuring 5.6. Not a huge bump, but strong enough to send us running outside. Our male dog Eddie (Special Ed!) was up and nervous about 5 minutes before the quake. He wanted outside, but didn't want outside and paced around the house until the quake at which time he came and urged us to go outside. As he gets older he gets more protective of us and was trying to herd us into a group while we were outside. There was just enough moonlight to see the redwoods shaking back and forth. Our house is OK with just a few minor cracks in the drywall at the corners. Whoo hoo, let 'er ride!

Oh man, this is one of those times that I'm glad I dont live in California. Well, and the wild fires.. those suck too.

Sometimes I'm glad to live in the boring prairie in the wilds of frozen Canada. ;)

Glad to hear that you are all ok!

Agree with you Luke: we live away from heartquakes and also from hurricanes; even if our country is not a country: it's winter!!! :D
I always been fascinated how our animals can feel those things. Maybe that's why I always have pets at home.
Glad everything turned out ok for you bozo

Damn. that sucks. I know its bad of me to say this, but I kind of wanted one to happen when I was in San Francisco last month. I've never experienced one before.

Glad everything's alright. I'll keep in mind about your dog though, if mine starts acting crazy I'll make sure to look out for stuff like tornadoes and such.

Earthquakes don't bother me that much, depending where I am at. I was in socal for the one in '89. The SO ( not the SO yet at that time) and I just got home the night before from the bay area where I was meeting her family (Meet the Fockers... Really).

I just felt another one about 15 minutes ago. That one was only a 3.7. Felt like a truck jumped the curb. There have been 42 aftershocks since the 5.6 last night...

Bah don't talk about Hurricanes! At least during a hurricane you can have a party provided you live above the water table......

On a message board I post on, there were at least 20 threads about it on the front page right as it was happening.

glad to hear your ok. haha, i remember when i felt one a couple years ago. i was playing true crime on the xbox sitting down on my computer chair. I farted loudly, and while i farted i felt a little shake. i was like thinking to myself "Wow, i made my chair tremble." haha, and then my mom came in the room checking if i was ok, and then she told me a smalle earthquake tremble passed by.

My first earthquake experience was in San Diego. I had recently arrived in town for my first naval tour in uncle sam's canoe club. I was on the ship at night, looking at the base when I noticed a low pitch rumble and one of the piers was moving funny. I later found out it was an earthquake.

After I relocated to Cali and met my future wife, it seems that every time we moved houses, there was an earthquake. You get used to it until a larger one hits, then it wakes you up all over again.
