Strangely compelling.

Basically it's a map of the world with boxes popping up every time someone edits a wikipedia page. The box shows their location, and links to the page they just edited.

Well I didn't actually find it, I was told about it on a mailing list so I thought I'd share.

Anyway, checkout the http://flickrvision (http://www.flickrvision.com/) link which inspired it. But you need a fast connection. My wireless connection can't handle it, but the wired one can. Then try the 3D view (http://flickrvision.com/maps/show_3d). Smaller pictures means that one actually works better on the laptop.
