Fiting thread sizes

Aqua computer ramplex RAM-cooler and a Vreg block (for M2N-SLi Deluxe) have G1/8" fitting threads so would they be a problem if my other watercooling parts are G1/4" fitting threads.

I thought I could connect them parralely after the CPU block and before radiator but I don't know will it work. (hope you understand what I mean)

My other parts are: Laing D5 Pump, Danger Den Copper TDX, EK VGA waterblock, and EK southbridge waterblock.

Though RAM coolers aren't necessary, you could get a 1/2" (or 3/8", whatever you're using) to 1/4" fitting or adapter.

if the fittings can be removed then change them to 1/4". 1/4" restricts a system enough let alone 1/8". as for the ram i would leave it out of the loop or get air coolers.

I would recommend against RAM coolers unless you run a "Y" line from your loop and dedicate a a small seperate line for the RAM (Swiftech have some fittings that would fit your size). Pretty much most systems today would use G1/4 threads. What size tubing do you intend to use? I have G1/4 threads with 1/2" connectors on everything with 1/2" ID by 3/4" OD ClearFlex tubing.

I think this would work cause 1/4"=2/8"
2/8"=2*1/8"
But I'm not sure.
Tube size before 1st Y is 1/2"
Tube size after 1st Y and before 2nd Y is smaller than 1/2" (don't know how small)

I think I will use koolance fittings and Y.

The loop looks good. I haven't used RAM or mosfet coolers before so I can't help you. Is it possible to order 1/2" fittings with G1/8" fittings? That would be a lot easier to do, the way you have described is that it is going from 1/2" to a smaller size and then back to 1/2" tubing. I don't know if you can get "Y" fittings that change tubing diameter at the split, you usually need an adapter after the "Y", this will lead to a lot more hassle with leaks.

1/2" G1/8" fittings exist. But still G1/8" is a lot more smaller than G1/4".

You could drill out the holes and tap new ones, the plexi tops on the blocks are thick and you should eb able to do this yourself.

ya i was thinking that too ^^ (i would have said the fittings) but you would need to tap the newly drilled holes.

you can get 2 splitters that go from 1/2" to 1/8" then have them join back in with the cpu. that way everything gets cool water and what ever can't go to the ram and mosfet's goes to the cpu.

Nice idea Spawn-inc. That way I could get rid of ram block.

Or I could dirll holes, not existing ones but new ones also G1/8" so I would have 2 inlets and 2 outlets.
I would make existing holes bigger but I don't think there is enough space for them.

I agree Spawn, I thought you could get connectors like that but have only seen them with the Swiftech GPU RAM block.

The Ramplex, or any ram watercooling that i have seen, is unaffective, it has to transfer heat from the chips>heat spreader>contact plates>block>water, not a good method. So it just restricts the loop. And unless your RAM is extremely hot for some reason there is no point.

I wasn't saying that he had to use the Ramplex, I just said that that kit is the only one I have seen with the "Y" junctions he is looking for.
